Nurses who became famous

Good morning. I was reading on cnn.com this morning about author Malcolm Gladwell's new book that discusses why some people become famous and why others just blend in the crowd. I was wondering... are there any nurses who became famous after being a nurse?? Like did any become noted advocates, influential public officials, or maybe even moviestars?? :thankya:This is a fun question and I am just curious if any nurses out there that you know of had a brush with fame.

:nurse: :w00t:

The nurse who became the mother of Micheal Jacksons kids lol. Lucky her!

There is one from the Chicago area her first name is Bonnie, can't think of her last name. A very cute blond.

She was a nurse, then got into acting. I think she is married to a doctor.

Robin Quivers, Howard Stern's side-kick is famous. But she admits that nursing is not for her.

Bonnie Hunt. She was a nurse, then became a comedian, then had her own show "The Bonnie Hunt Show" a sitcom on ABC, she was in "Jumanji", and "Cheaper by The Dozen", and "Cheaper by The Dozen 2". She now has a show that is on mid day in the Chicago area that I don't get here in Detroit. I think it is on TBS.

Hubby tells me there is a very famous Media star that is an ER nurse. Not something I am real proud of, but hey whatever floats her boat.

OH! I didn't know Bonnie Hunt was a nurse, COOL! Naomi Judd was an RN, too.

And how would your husband know this? :p

I, too heard once about a retired Mediao star who after leaving the field went to nursing school and is now IIRC a nurse practitioner who takes care of Media actors, mainly regarding things like STDs and drug addiction.

Good heavens, Ron Jeremy used to be a special ed teacher! No, I don't watch him or anything; how could anyone make something like that up?

The NP who works on the adult movie set probably makes big bucks seeing as the XXX industry generates millions. Seems like a pretty interesting job although it probably gets depressing at times watching some of those women get caught up in the business.

Anyone know if nurses working on other Hollywood movie sets are something common or a million to one shot?
