Not just the trolls....

A couple of people need to evaluate their maturity level. I do the same on myself all the time so i am praticing what i preach.

Not a flame, just an observation i made upon readin a week's worth of posts and threads, after taking a much-needed week's vacation to the beach. :)

Does "passive-aggressive" ring a bell?

Agreed!

This is a WONDERFUL support forum.

The problems in "real life", of petty back-biting and such ~ do we really NEED to bring that here?

NO!

This is a wonderful resource for networking, information, and support ~ let's keep it that way, all of us!

:)

Totally agree.

After being sucked in by a troll once I now try to not post at all unless I'm sure I'll keep my cool and contribute in a constructive way...otherwise I'm just part of the problem, no better than the troll.

JMHO

I have been a member for a year and a half, and have never met a troll. I didn't really know that we "don't feed the trolls" Everyone on the board that night was calling this person a troll because of his original thread that was closed down. I got very upset, when Dolphin compared nursing to a hotel, several people did. Maybe it got out of hand, but on his first post he wasn't asking questions he was demeaning nurses, and was not even talking civil. I guess I am the one that is being called juvenile/childish/unprofessional........

After the first post, immediately a second post arose w/ more flaming, then a third.....I was trying to make light of the situation as were others.....by changing the subject, I guess we didn't see the humor in this and that is fine. I just want to make comment on how the thread was closed and what the SuperModerator, Canoehead said:

(Quote)

Well we've exhausted this subject. I'm closing this thread and leaving it out as an example of trolling and to add to our "Stupid patient questions" thread whenever someone starts one. (Quote)

Now, after that first thread was closed with these words, spoken by a Super Moderator, how was I, as a person who didn't even know what a troll was before that night, supposed to know that this person was not actually a troll???

I am not childish/juvenile/unprofessional........And really resent the comments, I was not discounting a real concern or question, I was discounting a "Stupid patient question" (quote)

Yes before becoming a nurse, I had no patience for the system either, I've yelled at a nurse or two over a family member....I understand the other side. But I also realize that if Dolphin had real concerns, he could have approached the question without attacking people who had nothing to do with his family member waiting for 8 hrs in the ER.

I'm sorry I jumped on the Troll bandwagon, for the first time...

well-who knows who the comments were aimed at? They were quite generic. It's a shame the poster did not have the courage to directly address the person they are criticizing.....Take it with a grain of salt...Many of us have jumped on the troll bandwagon at some point in time-some just don't want to admit it....

I know of the troll you speak of, but not sure what else you are getting at?

m Not a flame, but maybe you need to pm a "couple of people?"

Someone posted "Why all the trolls lately?" My theory is Seasonal Affective Disorder, endless rain, and beginning of the holiday shopping season stress. I know I'm feeling cranky lately, and my vacation is nowhere in sight.
