Not admitted to testing center

Greetings. First time posting here. I went this morning to take the NCLEX in Illinois and was denied admission because my driver's license shows my full name including my father and mother's last name. It has been this way for 4 years and I never had an issue. They did not accept the ID so I went to the DMV and got rid the my mother's last name. Now it shows the correct name they want to see. They are saying I have to pay $200 again to test! Is this correct? I can't believe that after cutting through layers of misinformation and bureaucracy I have to pay again. My level of frustration is beyond describable.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Yes, you will have to pay again.

Sorry.

I think on the ATI that was sent you it explains that the name on the ID and the ATI has to be exactly the same.

Yes this is true. I am reentry lpn and was looking for a refresher program, so in the meantime i decided to challenge the cna exam well i filled out all the paperwork with the name i always use....... and my drivers license and ss card both have my maiden name as my middle name ( i do not use my maiden name ever) they would not let me take the exam until i was able to show some other proof of that name i had to have my husband bring my passport and my bank card to me so i could take the clinical part! I learned a very valuable lesson that day so from that day foward i use my first, maiden name, last name as my professional name. So when i reactivated my nursing licensse it reads the same now.

Near the end of the last semester of nursing school we had a class in which we all filled out the nclex application for the state we wanted to work in. Our teachers made sure that we filled out our name EXACTLY as it was written on our driving licensees.

Per the rules established the person showing up to take the test today was not the same person that was scheduled.

Sorry that you learned a hard lesson. But you will have to fill out an application and pay for a new testing date.

yup, the name on the ATT, should and must match your name on your identification card..

I'm also licensed in Illinois, sorry to hear that..

Sorry to hear of that.I can feel your situation.

When I showed my Green Card with same name on my ATT, still they were looking for another ID,my passport has my maiden name and ex husband name.It gives me a stressful time to look for other ID.But after showing other documents like marriage contract,Bank card with my name same on ATT, I was able to took that test.

The best thing to do if there is some issues like this, better to take other documents that will show your identity.

I learned a lesson from that too.Since I failed that test, now to take again....

I get another ID that really spell what is on my ATT, and planning to bring other documents in case there's some discrepancies. I would'nt want to repeat that incident that I almost not allowed to take the test.

About the paying part,it looks like you have to pay again as what is stated in the bulletin.

I know I have seen in many places where it is stated that your ID name must match the name, as printed, on your application. Sorry you got caught with this. Good luck on your test.
