Hello everyone! I always go on this site and read people's posts and comments; I find it very informative and interesting. I just became a member a few minutes ago, and this is actually my first post. Like most of this site's users..I am re-taking my NCLEX RN exam in Dec. for the 3rd try. I am so worried, and scared to fail again. I used to work full time when i took my previous exams where I flunked. Then, I just got recently laid-off.. (how sad...) but then, I think this will give me an ample time to gather myself and review and be more focused this time. Pls. help me which review program or strategies would be effective? Your suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time, I'm just worried and hoping that my next job will be in the hospital as an RN.

Welcome! It is nerve wracking and a downer if you're repeating the test. I'm worried myself that I will need to keep re-taking the test. I'm currently reading the Saunders reviewer and have heard lots of praises of how good it is in preparing you from other people. Hope you find a study method that will work for you this time around! Good Luck!

Good luck to you both...
I just took it a few months ago and would like to suggest that whatever book you use just make sure that it has the new question format...
SATA (select all that apply) made up about 40% of my test.
I used the Lippincott NCLEX prep book with success.

First of all welcome! You can pass the test! There is a member on here that has a plan and I believe there has been a lot of success for people that have failed it at least once. Here is a link to it, I believe it is one of the sticky's in one of the forums.http://https://allnurses.com/forums/f197/

:welcome: Good luck!!!! I would suggest reading through The Random Facts Sticky Thread and Infection Control Thread. Both were of great help to me. Think positive and good luck.

This is not always the case as far as SATA questions; they are only a format type. There have been quite a few posters just this week that did not get even one of these on their exam and they passed.

i took the nclex 3 times before and hoping to take it again in december maybe. I also have a fulltime job and still working. It's hard studying and working. I think we need to focus on pharm calulations, infection control and prioritization. lots of practice on these areas

You should be not getting any math questions on your exam in most cases. The Board is very aware that all that have made it thru their nursing program have had to pass the math exam or they are removed from school. Each exam is different, and they are not related. You need to prepare as if you have never tested before, not just trying to add on specific areasd.Best of luck to you.

First of all welcome! I am studying to re-take boards again for the 3rd time also. I'm not sure when though, maybe late November or early December. I am preparing by using Marlene Hurst's online review. Her review is supposed to have a 98% pass rate. I'm also answering questions from the NCLEX 3000 cd. I have a Kaplan book, but it didnt work for me. I also purchased Marlene Hurst's review book from Barnes and Nobles. I hope that you do well the 3rd time around! Have a good day.

Hi and Welcome, I just took boards a week ago and passed using Suzannes plan. I found it to be helpful after taking the boards for the third time. But, good luck and keep us posted on how it goes!
