  1. hey sorry vonte' i'm kinda new to this site... you said you're a foreign nurse as well and is planning to go to the US that's why you're taking up the nclex correct? i don't mean to discourage you or destroy or dream or something like that but with the retrogression still in effect, i'd suggest you make other plans like if US is your plan A then why not try countries in Europe as plan B. i myself am thinking about it coz having relatives in the US cannot guarantee me anything at all so after my exams (hopefully i pass with just one take) and taking up all the experience i need, i'm seriously considering going to New Zealand. Oh and regarding the tips on passing the nclex, my only tip would be to study every concept by heart. no one can predict what will come out of the exam so better equip yourself with everything you got and not just focusing on things you heard came out of the last exams or you thought would come out. it's hard to study and work that's why i had to quit to focus on my studies coz it'll worth it anyway (if you pass the exams that is, that's why you need to focus coz the exam ain't cheap... i don't know for you but for me the exam is pricy...) good luck and God Bless
  2. i'd agree with suzanne4 although you may seem to find some trend with the exams you previously took, you can never predict what's coming out so don't just focus on certain topics. Like what my instructors at Kaplan told me "NCLEX is testing minimum competence" and you must know at least a little bit of something and just to be safe you gotta know them all. of course i'm not expecting everyone to memorize books what i'm saying is that you oughta study hard for the exam, understand the concepts and learn how, when, where to apply them and to whom they apply to. i myself am currently preparing for an exam - CGFNS/NCLEX. i'm getting anxious lol... coz my CGFNS CP exam is on Nov 12 and it's like a few more weeks away... sigh.
  3. I've been with Kaplan since my Local Board Exam here in the Philippines, i took the exam just once and passed it. now i'm currently preparing for my CGFNS/NCLEX exam with Kaplan and i must say, they know what a comprehensive review really means. i hope to pass the exams like you guys did.
  4. hi there... i just have a quick query about the CGFNS exam... i already received a confirmation letter that i've already been rostered for the exam this nov 12, '08 here in the Philippines. funny thing is, the letter didn't include the location and time of the exam, it's the same thing when i check it online, those mentioned parts are N/A and that the exam site is currently unassigned. i was just thinking that it's because the exam for this month has not started yet that's why they didn't give any information on the location and time. am i wrong about this? i do hope you'd enlighten me on this. thanks so much
