I woke up this morning nice and early to take my NCLEX, I graduated with honors and I know my stuff. I got in my car and played relaxing music, things were good until I looked at the road and realised I drove half way to my boyfriends house, 15 mins East...the center is West of me! I don't know what I was thinking! I finally got there with a few minutes to spare. The woman inside said "Drivers licence and ATT please".... I said "Ummm ATT? I don't have that with me?" She politley told me I would need to forfit my $200 test fee and make a new test date (Poor CNA here! $200=16 hours of bed baths and ass wiping!). I started crying, this made a scene (embarrassing much?) and I politley told the woman she may soon have emesis all over the carpet of person vue. She said there was no way for her to look in my e-mail from her computer but that there was a Holiday Inn 'next door' and prehaps I could use the computer in their lobby. By the grace of god I wore sneakers and athletic pants so I was able to sprint a half mile (IT WAS NOT NEXT DOOR) along side of the service RD to a 4 lane highway. When I arrived in the hotel the woman took pitty on my pathetic sobbing, sweaty, and now wet (it rained today) self. I went to print and the printer was out of toner. The woman told me I could not use the office computer because she could loose her job. I begged her and she finally broke, allowing me behind the hotel desk. I sprinted back to Person Vue. Since I was within my 30min grace period I was able to start the test. I had to catch my breath and relax for a little. My test shut off at 75 questions and I have no idea how I did, but mostly I feel horrible about it (Alot of people do though). I may have run my fastest mile today. Should I pass (i'll know thursday) im bringing flowers to the woman at Holiday Inn. I thank god that im a runner, didn't wear my flip flops, and God graced me with a Holday Inn employee that had a heart.

It sounds like you had a terrible day, but it seems like you were confident (before all of the traumatic events) that you knew your stuff. I doubt you forgot everything even in the midst of all that.

Sounds like the dream I have had for the last two nights and I don't test for another 2 weeks.
I hope you passed. Good luck.

The run probably did ya some good, nothing like a good bit of excercise to get the brain motivated hehe.
And kudos for thinking of the flowers for the holiday inn employee, ya might want to do it regardless of whether or not you pass
Good luck!

Take her a small gift certificate for a Starbucks or local sandwich shop -- I bet on her hourly salary, she'll appreciate that more than flowers -- and it'll be less conspicuous in a card especially if she put her job on the line letting you do what you did!!! However, I'm sure she'd appreciate any form of appreciation!!
Good luck - I bet you did great!!

I too was late to my NCLEX date. (Darn Mapquest had the wrong directrions NE is NOT the same as NW!) anyway needless to say I was worked up and tearful and sure they wouldn't let me in to test, but they did. I stopped at 75 and found out the next day that I passed. I am sure that you will too! Think happy thoughts! And I agree about getting a gift card and a thank you note to the holiday inn office lady.
