NCLEX Date Approaching...

  • Experts

I am scheduled to take NCLEX approximately 5 days from now. Does anyone have any advice or pointers on what I should do with this remaining amount of time? I'll give you a little background on my situation.

I completed school in mid-October and have been studying a couple of hours daily ever since. I feel confident; however, I'd love some advice on what to do during this final stretch. My weakest areas, in my opinion, are pharm and math. Thanks in advance! ;)

Good luck. I am scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN on 1/4. I just got done last night with the 604 questions on Pharmacology last night on the Saunder's CD and I am glad I reviewed them all. There is no math in that section though. If you have Saunders, it is in the Fundamental Skills section. If I were you I would answer all of the study questions in both sections.

Good luck to us both :kiss

Good luck to you, sweetie! ;)

And thank you. I'll need all the luck and blessings possible.

Don't study the day before is advice I was given and used. If you don't know it by know, you won't be able to cram everything you need to know . Good luck.

Thank you. I'll need all the luck I can get, since knowledge sometimes does not cut it alone. ;)

Good Luck to you "TheCommuter". I will be sending positive thoughts you way.

Thank you so much! :wink2:

Im anxiously preparing and waiting on my ATT STILL. My weak spot mainly is pharm. I use both of my Saunders books and they help a little but not nearly enough for me to be confident or feel like I could march my little self right into that testing center and show that test how much pharm I know. Lately, that's all I study is pharm and nothing else hardly. I just am scared out of my mind. What if I get there and it's all about something else other than pharm? I would feel like a total idiot knowing that I can't turn back and that it might be a real possiblility that I will be making another trip to the testing center. Sorry I just need to vent to someone other than family who understands what Im going through. At this point, I just dont know what to study anymore because it's so much of everything. I think that Im going to make the first appointment I can get just to get it over with because there are so many drugs (even the common ones) and for me, it's impossible for me to learn them all especially w/o me having the ability to work with them, that is how I learn.

If you plan to take NCLEX-PN soon, perhaps you can be reassured that Pharmacology is only 5 to 11 percent of the entire test plan. Therefore, the pharm is only a very small percentage of NCLEX. Good luck to you.

That was the old test plan, from 2002. The new test plan came out in April 2005. Pharm is now 9-15% for the PN exam, but that is still a small percentage. Also, remember, pharm questions are not going to all be about actions, side effects, etc. If you look at the test plan, there are several subjects under medication administration itself.
