I'm sitting here waiting until the clock ticks over to 9am so that I can check the QuickResults to see if I passed that dreaded exam!! I took the exam on Wednesday June 27th and it was the worst exam I have ever taken. I only got around 80 questions and they were almost all prioritizing questions...no med calcs, no basic knowledge, and no delegation questions. I had a bunch of questions that dealt with medications I have never heard of, lots of urology questions and some prioritization questions that were really, really tough. It was easy to eliminate two of the options but the final two were so close I felt like I was guessing on most of them. I walked out of the testing center "numb" and feeling like I must be the most stupid person in the world. I have accepted a position in the surgical ICU at a major teaching hospital and now I feel like I should run as fast as I can in the opposite direction. What was I thinking...I have no business in the ICU. I have to keep telling myself to stay positive because I know that I can do this job - I did a lengthy internship in that SICU and received stellar remarks from my preceptor but this exam has been the death of my self confidence for sure. :( I did the unthinkable and looked up the answers to some of the questions I could remember right after the exam and this is only driving me more crazy....if you haven't taken the exam yet - DON'T DO THIS! The one saving grace has been reading all the other posts here and realizing that many of us have felt the same way while waiting for our results. Okay 10 more minutes to go....I'll post the results shortly.:uhoh21:

Specializes in Education, Administration, Magnet.

I just came back from the testing center too. I felt sick to my stomach during the whole exam. I had no calculations, tons of teaching questions and priority questions. Of course I had those horrible med questions too. I am hoping those were the 15 questions that they will throw out. Computer shut off after 75 and I just felt numb. Sunday can't come soon enough.

*thinking about you* :icon_hug:

I dont ever respond to these posts but I just want you to know that I prayed for you today! I am waiting to get my ATT now and I cant even imagine going thru all of that. I cant wait til I am able to do the same thing (put that RN behind my name). Some just dont understand us. It is a challenge going to school and putting our familes "on hold". In the end it all comes down to 1 test. I waited for you to post the wonderful news but when I checked for it I didnt see a response. I knew you had passed after I prayed for you. I am sooo glad for you. CONGRATS TO YOU!!! Some posts really touch me. This time my heart smiled for you. Best of luck. :balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons:
