NCC nursing program

Has anyone been accepted to Ncc's nursing program. If so, how hard is it, and are you able to work while in the program?

I believe they let you know more information on the scheduled date you have to head to the nursing department. I know that wasn't what you wanted to know but I'm assuming. If you don't go through the accelerated program what were you thinking about doing? If I get in (fingers crossed) I would do the two year then apply for rn to bs programs

Yeah I'm hoping that they gave us more info at that date. It's interesting though, looking at previous threads, it seemed as if the acceptance letter said that you were "tentatively accepted", and that the scheduled date was for an interview (although everyone tentatively accepted was really accepted). This letter just says that "you have been accepted into the Nursing program", and that "registration/advisement for the students...will be held: Tuesday, May 20th at 9am in LSB 317". Anyway, I'm just wondering if they're doing things a little differently this semester.

But yeah, if I don't go through the accelerated, I guess I'd just do the two years then RN to BSN. I'm still waiting on a few other schools (Adelphi, CNR, Montefiore), but those are all expensive (I applied for financial aid, so we'll see). I'm trying to not go into more debt with this (I already have loans from my first degree), but I also know that it's very difficult to get jobs with an ADN (though some will take you if you're enrolled in the RN to BSN). Nassau is great because it's the cheapest option, close to where I live, nice facilities, and it seems like they have some great hospitals for clinicals. I'm just a little worried because most of the summer externship programs only allow BSN students to apply, and the big hospitals only really take BSN applicants. I just don't want to be stuck while finishing the RN to BSN program, ya know.

ANYWAY, maybe I'm just too worried and obsessed. I'm 99% sure I'll be at Nassau, unless Adelphi or CNR gives me a ridiculous financial aid package lol. Let us know once you get your acceptance! :)

Oh, is anyone planning on taking pathophysiology (it's in the bio department) in the Fall? It's not required for the program, but BSN programs include it so I think I'm gonna take it and I'm assuming it'll be accepted as transfer for the RN to BSN. Plus I'm a nerd, haha.

Oh! So it is the same date as last year, May 20th. Oh goodness, things just got more interesting for me.

Got my letter yesterday , I'm in !!!! . I was at work and my roommate texted me that the letter showed. I couldn't finish my shift with the suspense so I asked him to open it take a pic and send it back. When I received the good news , shots were poured. :)

Congrats ChrisRyan!! And NYCGuy86, that's a good strategy, taking courses that will help accelerate an rn-bsn program! Thanks for the idea :-)
