  1. Hi. Sorry to hear you are still waiting. I rec'd my ATT on May 27th, took the exam on June 10th and my license posted on the GA BON on June 17th. I know that a good number of my classmates are still waiting too. Have you paid for your test on the pearson website? Some people have told me you have to do that before they will process your application... I do not know that for a fact. Some of them called and they were told it take 20-25 business days. FYI: if you have not already done so you should check out the "pearson vue trick " thread on this forum. There is approx 180 pages of new grads the this worked for, me included. It just makes the two days of waiting after the test just barely tolerable until you get your offical scores. Good Luck
  2. I am starting out in ICU, I love the the structure of the unit.
  3. Thanks sirI and everyone else that has contributed to this information.
  4. I graduated May 9th, rec'd my ATT on May 30th and took and passed the NCLEX on June 10th. My employer is just waiting for my license to show on the BON so I can work. Hope this helps
  5. 1. Describe the orientation process you received when you began working as a new graduate? 2 weeks of hospital orientation (paperwork, insurance, hospital policies) and then 12 weeks with a preceptor ( I am going into the ICU area) 2. What assistance from your mentor did you find most helpful in making the transition? Making me do things instead of just watching. Baptism by fire! 3. What responsibilities of the nursing position did you find, and may still find, most challenging? Our patients are critical so their conditions change on a dime so I find myself on a constant high. Am really tired at the end of the shift. 4. What activities do you engage in to promote your personal health? yoga 5. What advice do you have for a new graduate nurse? it is really difficult out there finding a job and you need to make sure you like the area you will be working in. Start looking to early and if you don;t know something ask.
  6. Just to udate. I took the exam on Wednesday, got the same message as everyone else about not being able to register again and this morning I was able to view my results and I passed.
  7. I just tried to check but my status is "Ready for Delivery" not "Delivery Successful" so I will have to keep checking. Somebody get the padded cell ready.
  8. Well I am heading out to my testing center in about an hour, so I will do the trick when I get home and add my results.
  9. Congrats on your graduation and the new baby. I graduated May 9th and will take the NCLEX on June 10th. I can not honestly say I have had much time to develop shock with all the hospital orientation, study groups and NCLEX reveiws. But I am very much looking forward to returning to the working world.
  10. Hi. I am a new grad as of May 9th. Can anyone tell me the turn around time for the Georgia Board of Nursing to process applications? I received notification yesterday that they had received my money order (which was with my application) so I was just wondering how long they take to process all the paperwork and send out the permission to test at Pearson Vue. Thanks
  11. I am a new grad and will be starting in the ICU on May 18th. Thanks to everyone for all of these suggestions/directions. I think I learned something from every single post and I intend to use them all. This is a great thread.
  12. Congrats! I am a new grad too and will be working in the ICU. I am shaking in my boots. Thankfully I was able to precept in my ICU during my last semester and I will be working with some wonderful nurses.
  13. I am 44 years old and will be graduating May 8th. You are not too old.:)
