You have on hand Tylenol 500 mg po tablets. The order is for Tylenol 500 mg po tid.

How many tablets of Cimetidine would be administered in a 24 hour period?

Why do koalas eat bamboo? I dont know...

i think you left something out there dear.

If that's truly how the question reads the answer would be zero.

Do you mean how many tablets of Tylenol?

If so, then is there any questions there? You wouldn't even need a formula to figure that out. Hopefully, you could figure that out in your head.

Not trying to be rude at all.

I've got a molehill. Anybody want to make it a mountain?

I got out my scientific calculator and have been working on this for 2 hours. Ugh! Maybe if I move the "X" to the other side of the equations and divide by "Y" and graph it out, I should find the answer once I know where the X and Y intersect right? Or am I over thinking this??? LOL

OMG! Why must you older nurses eat your young like this?

......okay snark removed.

OP; are we goofing off or was there really a question you were asking?

Because if this is a joke thread about unrelated issues, we could have a lot of fun here............

tid means three times a day. so tylenol 500 mg given three times a day would be a total of tylenol 1500 mg in a 24 hour period.

i hope you meant to say tylenol instead of cimetidine. tylenol is analgesic (for pain) and antipyretic (lowers fever) while cimetidine is gastric acid secretion inhibitor and histamine h2 antagonist (for gastric ulcer and other uses) .

hope that helps.
