MDC Spring 2010

Hey MDC soon to be RNs:)

We've been leeching of the Fall 2009 thread too long. It has 78Pages so far. I just wanted to see if we could hear from those that are in.

Has anyone registered yet? Bought your books? Any recommendations? Anyone applying for the New UM Scholars or Baptist Scholars?

Btw, that was great news to hear that UM is taking over where Jackson Scholars left off. Even, for those not interested in the program it's great because with those 2 programs it adds another 80 seats to the program. Thus, lowering the GPA cutoff, which should be great news for those that will apply in future semesters.

I'd love to hear from those that got in the Fall 09 but I can't seem to locate most of them.

Thanks you, MDCupcake for responding to my post.:) However, I found this information under requirements in the School of Nursing site: All Options are required to have no more than a total of three (3) grades of D, F, or W in the natural science courses for the program. All Options are required to have no more than two (2) enrollments (D, F, or W) for any individual science course for the program.

I will go to the medical campus for further advisement.

I appreciate the advice guys and I wish you all the best! I hope you guys don't mind me posting on this particular thread from time to time, as it is the most current with my situation.

Sarah,

I hope you find your answer. I'm sure no one minds that you ask questions. We're just getting started ourselves, but hopefully we can be of some help to you!

Wishing you the best,

MDCupcake

Hey Hopefuls,

The schedule for the fall is now posted. You can look now and try to determine the courseload you will have and the type of schedule that would be available. Everyone look out for their big envelopes coming soon. :)

Thanks So Much!!! I have an idea of what to expect:)

Tatortots: where is the schedule for the fall posted? I looked but couldn't find it. Thanks!

You go to the current students tab and log in. After that you go to search for open classes and select Fall. Select Medical campus and for course put "NUR" all nursing courses will show up and the times.

Hope that helps

It is so exciting to see all these profs and knowing I will be in some of their classes in a few months. :) Anyone heard anything yet??

Did anyone get an email in the MDC mail about a mandatory scholarship information session for Wednesday June 16??? Who is going??

I got an e-mail too-- and will be going. Glad I read on here that they sent them out because otherwise I probably would have deleted it as junk mail!

I also received the email. Its from the Dean of Advisement. On the bottom of the email there is a note:

"PLEASE NOTE: The final dreams for admissions to the Nursing Program have not been accomplished. This letter is not notification of admission to the program."

I wont get my hopes up just yet.

Oh boy, I was so excited at first and thought the same thing. Shouldn't shout for victory just yet lol.

But I am still excited about going to that. What were your GPAs, may I ask?? I mean, it does appear the recipients themselves were rather selective. If it weren't for that latter part in bold, I would have thought it to be rather "official"~
