Looking for a long lasting watch

Published

I buy cheap watches from target every year or so. Today, again one of mine stopped working for no apparent reason.

Are there any durable, waterproof, high quality watches any of y'all would recommend for nursing? I was a CNA for 4 years, have been through LVN school, currently going through RN-BSN school and am willing to spend a hundred or so dollars for a quality watch that will last.

Thanks!

Amazon has a bunch. The Casio G-Shock is pretty darn popular. It's tough, waterproof, and will handle a good bleaching. They aren't date night stylish, but you can find some that don't look like the mascot for SEAL Team-6.

You can find them all day for $100. Try checking your local Kohls, they go on sale pretty regularly at mine, plus you can get another X-% off when you open a Kohl's card.

Over the years I have purchased a lot of watches both expensive and cheap. None have lasted more than a year some have had a significantly shorter life. So know I but the under $20.00 watches at Walmart when one breaks. If you want something that will hold up well I have seen several people wearing Diver's watches which are water proof and impact resistant and usually have big easy to see dials. But will probably cost a couple of hundred bucks

Even when I've bought the better watches, the glass face of the watch gets all scratched up. Then there's always the possibility of losing it if you take if off for some reason.

So I buy cheapos at Walmart. When the batteries run down, I just toss them They owe me nothing.

I second the Casio G shock. I bought cheap Timex watches every year for years and finally got a G shock for my birthday. They come in male, female, and unisex styles in a variety of colors and prices. They also come with a variety of features which affects the cost. Mine will store phone numbers although I've never used this feature.

Okay. I am getting a summer job at Macys and will be spending my first little check on a g-shock!

G shock or the Baby G are both durable. Plus they come in lots of fun colors.

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive - it uses natural light to charge the battery so you don't have to worry about it dying, especially mid-shift. This is the one that I bought as a birthday present: Amazon.com: Citizen Women's FB1350-58A Chronograph Analog Display Japanese Quartz Silver Watch: Watches There a definitely cheaper ones, but I was looking for a bit of a larger face and one that I could keep on all the time and this fit my requirements.

Try the Prestige Medical watches! Got mine Dec 2013 as a Christmas gift wore it to clinical and wear it every work shift now. It's very flush to the wrist and allows for movement without getting caught on bedding or anything. Has military time on the face and wipes with alcohol/sani-wipes with no issues. It is definitely water resistant and it's inexpensive. Comes in many colors, I have purple.

I had a prestige. It survived Cna school, Cna work and Lvn school.

Then I bough a white gloss g shock from Amazon for 50. I found my son one for even less! It's been in use for a year. I like it because I do think it looks good in my every day clothes.

I have a Baby G watch that was about $50 on Amazon. They come in many different color schemes, are very durable and waterproof. I attached a picture
