We've recently updated our live chat (click here)

We are planning on setting up some scheduled chat times, so that there will actually be people in the chat room at specific times :)

We'd like to get some feedback from you, our members, as to what times you would like to set up for scheduled chat times. So please let us know what you think.

Also, we would also like to set up chats on specific nursing related topics, so, please submit your suggestions on topics you'd like to see discussed as well.

We will be putting the chat schedule in our newsletter, which is going out Mon or Tues, so please send in your suggestions as soon as possible. Thanks again for all your help!

Brian...would love to put down a definate time; but with my schedule being so goofy, I will have to just take chances and pop in if/when I can. :p

Will think on the rest of your questions. :chuckle

I would like to suggest a room for premium members only.

As far as scheduled times..9am-11am for night shifters? I stay up in the am...sleep in the eve.

How about stump the nurse....A game where students and nurse newbies ask questions and try to stump the experienced nurses? Could be challenging and fun:)

Stump the nurse...I love it! LOL!

Heck, those ideas are better than mine, I was going to suggest some seasonal topics once a week, like 'ideas for preventing cold/flu', 'beating the holiday blues', and things like that...(kind of like my inservices at work..LOL! but more fun).

But it is hard to get everyone on at the same time..I have missed other topics on chats because I was pacific standard time, and they weren't...and I missed it by an hour or so :(...

I absolutely adore having a room that isn't 100% nursing related for us nurses that just want to chat and relax after work...yet discuss nursing things PRN :)! That has cetainly livened up the chat considerably!

The one thing...and it happens in all chats...is when you do get folks on there that just want to make trouble. Sadly you do as much as you can and it still happens. Hard sometimes to judge also if it is just someone having a bad day or trying to ruin a chat...not fun for administration to handle (trust me...have admin'd over 10 chats in my day). Talking about how to best prepare for those folks, we call 'Trolls' is something good to discuss before it happens...

LOVE the chat site though...very very pleased!!!!!

Crazy schedule here, too, and must be in bed by 7:30 pm the nights before I work.

Guess I'll just have to take my chances.

I love the "stump the nurse" idea ! :)

And I also like a "breakroom" in the "chatroom".

Maybe the "breakroom" chat could be open 24/7 for all of us with crazy schedules?

Probably to get the most good 2 or 3 times a day is going to be best. One night poster said 9a-11a would be good, thats OK if you work 11-7 but not if you work 7p-7a, as we are long gone to bed by then. What probably would be good is 2 or 3 hours at shift change times. 7a, 3p, 7p and llp. I for one generally check email in the morning when I get home and again when I get up in the afternoon. Even if I get up late say 5PM I'm sure if the room is active and lively from a 3PM start their would be people to chat with.

On another note I find it kind of sad that the chat room on this site isn't active. One would think as busy as the forums are IE how may hundreds of posts get made each day.
