Interview with Principal

Hello all! I am very excited because I have an interview for a school nurse position. The principal and assistant principal will be conducting the interview. Does anyone else here have experience with being interviewed by other professionals that are not in the health care field? If so, how did that interview differ from other jobs for which you have interviewed? What would be the best way to prepare for this interview? Thanks in advance!

If there won't be a nurse present it'll focus on feel good stuff like, tell us about your strengths and weaknesses, working well with other staff members, parent communication, maybe some situational stuff. There are a lot of threads on here you can review for some really good hints.

"Minimize lost instructional time" should be worked in often.

I say "Sick kids belong at home, healthy kids belong in class"

A lot of my interview was about privacy and what I would do if a student was pregnant, inform parents, etc. (this is a high school)

My interview focused on emergency management (not the medical aspect, but big overarching ideas) and dealing with parents/teenagers in general. Very little actual medical questions.

Does anyone have any articles about these issues or advice? I've got the emergency medical stuff down, the general medical stuff like diabetes/tube feeds/seizures/nebs down from working in hospitals, but I'm not clear on how to deal with pregnant teens, privacy with regards to kids/families, that sort of stuff.

I've got my first interview on Tuesday and it will be with two school nurses. I imagine I'm going to say "I will follow the district policy..." a lot! I'm going to try googling it.

Thanks everyone l! I got the job! Super excited!!!

Congrats!
