I've always thought if I wasn't a nurse I'd like to be a firefighter, quite different but then at the same time still a public service. When I was growing up I always wanted to work in a sweet factory but I grew out of that!
What other job would you want to do if you weren't a nurse? Just curious.
Some different ones, that's for sure. Some of them would include:
1. Court reporter
2. Animal control officer (like on Animal Precinct)
3. Owner/operator of one of those little silver diner places
4. Air host
This list isn't all-inclusive or exhaustive. If I think of more, I'll be happy to post them!
All I've ever wanted to do (besides nursing) was, and still is, professional writing. I've been published in a number of newspapers and a couple of magazines, but if I could make a living from writing, I'd give up nursing in a heartbeat! Especially after a day like today............~sigh~..........
Wait a minute, I take that back: I want Samantha Brown's job on the Travel Channel. She's the girl who does the "World's Great Hotels" show, and that must be just about the best job on the planet!! Imagine getting PAID to visit all the best hotels and resort the world has to offer, eat the finest foods, and be tended to by hot guys in open shirts and shorts............yeah, I could live with that.
I would like to be a writer, or a professional cook. What I actually would like to be doing is Security Operator/Contractor (Paramilitary). They did not have them around when I got out of the service like they do now. I really do miss runnin' and gunnin' at times....strange but living on the edge really brings the joys of life into clearer focus.
