It wouldn't be appropriate to put either of those titles on until she's earned them. Just her name will be fine.

I would put both. She has worked hard for her degree and deserves her credentials.

i believe those engraved gift stores in the mall can do it whenever, just tell them when you get the name engraved to leave space to later have the rn bsn added.

Definitely put the R.N., B.S.N. once she graduates. She has worked hard for those initials and well deserves them. :) Nice idea as I've also had a many expensive stethoscopes grow legs taking long walks never to be seen again. This way she will have an easy way to identify it.

That is very sweet of you:) My parents gave me a beautiful Litman Stethoscope with my name engraved and RN following it when I graduated this past May. It was an awesome gift to receive. I don't think its that big of a deal to have RN after it since no one else can really see it. The problem is if she loses it then people are going to look for a nurse with that name. It may be better to get her this gift once she graduates. Also maybe there is a way that you can get it engraved after she receives her RN. Try to look into the store Things Remembered. I don't know if you are aware of that store or if they have one in your area but they do engaving services. Good luck

Yes I have ones of those stores near me, I guess I can order it plain online then take it there and have them engrave her name, then take it back there and have the initials engraved later. Thanks.

My husband did this for me. The stethoscope had my name on it...and he wrote "future LPN". It made me feel so good! Even though I am a nurse now and have been for awhile, I still get a kick out of seeing the "future LPN" on there. It makes me smile.

Even when I become an RN...I will still use this stethoscope. Doesn't matter to me about the credentialing. I loved the sentiment. It meant the world to me. Still does.

She's going to love the gift...no matter what you decide to put on it.

I think I know what I will do:

name _____SN (for student nurse)

then after she graduates get a RN and B added to it so it would read:

name RN, BSN what do you guys think?
