After I had my daughter in September of 2005, I took the Spring and Summer Semesters of 2006 off. I did find myself missing my classes...I was very excited to start back in the Fall of 2006.
I too am done with my pre-req's, but in order to register a week earlier than everyone, you must be registered as a student, so I will continue to take classes until I get into the program so I have that preferred enrollment. Just hoping I get in for Spring 2008!
Good luck and I hope you are in the program soon!! I know how boring it is to have NOTHING to do when your used to have homework to do at the very least!

No.....I wouldn't miss it....but I just completed a bachelor's in another field in '99 and wasn't looking forward to going back for nursing school in the first place!! I am in an ADN program and am LOVING having the summer off to catch up around the house and do some reading of trashy novels and sleeping in!! Plus, I love gardening and a host of other hobbies, never mind spending time with my friends and family!!
And I am already dreading the thought of enrolling after this for a BSN or RN to MSN program!! I feel like a career student!! I look forward to just work and knowing that my time away from the job is my time with no studying or other obligations!!
Enjoy you guys!!

I am done with my RN and I know how you feel... lost.. I am so used to getting every thing done and doing home work, working full time and going to school that i have a big hole in my life... LOL...

I love school and miss it when I'm not in class. That sounds sick to most people...lol. I believe I will have issues when I graduate (Though will go onto Masters online) -- b/c it is so much of my identity.
My suggestion for your boredom....Research your interests/passions...if you have an area that you believe you'll want to explore--read up:) Maybe even volunteer somewhere...I know the skill level will be limited BUT it would get you in the atmosphere and NETWORKING is ESSENTIAL!
Good luck:)

I miss it too.. I am on a waiting list. I am passing the time by reading (in the last 2 weeks, I have finished 6 books.. mostly patterson books) I am also working out. I also have my daughter in preschool just 2 days a week. We are enjoying this time together (as well as my other 2 kids, but they are out of school for the summer)
I will be taking a patho class in the fall.. and I am thinking about learning Spanish.

OMG..do I ever miss school! I stopped taking classes last summer when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter :redpinkhe I didn't know how I'd feel as this was my first pregnancy and boy was I right. I was so ill during my first trimester that there is no way I'd be able to sit through class. And forget trying to dissect anything in A&P :barf01:... I was due in march so I didn't think it would be wise to start class and have to interrupt the semester considering how competitive the program is and I didn't want to chance my grades. My baby came a month early and then was hospitalized for jaundice so you could imagine how frazzled I was...good thing I took the time off from school. Now I'm so antsy that I've considered doing something else (like Univ of Phoenix) just so I could start classes. How silly...I don't even want to study anything they offer but I miss school that much. So now I'm chomping at the bit waiting for September and enjoying every minute with my daughter. So know that you're so not alone. Feel free to PM me anytime you want to chat...

I can't say I am bored I have 3 kids out of school for the summer, but I feel your pain about missing school. I am also done everything and just waiting to apply in september hoping to get in for the spring. I am catching up on pleasure reading and doing fun things with the kiddos. They start school in August and I plan to really take advantage of my alone time as it will not be like that again for a long time!! I do miss class though I was going through my old notebooks cleaning them out yesterday and started reviewing my micro and AP notes, thats what I really miss I loved those classes so much!!!
