I took the NCLEX-RN yesterday. I just know I failed. I had a feeling of doom from the beginning that I was not doing well. I had only 5 or 6 of those "higher level" prioritizing type questions. The rest were med-surg type questions and many, many teaching questions ("the nurse recognizes correct teaching when..."). I had a lot of select-all-that-apply and FOUR med calc (I never heard of anyone having that many...sigh...) My test cut off at 75. I did so horribly that it decided it was done with me right then and there! I know I missed question 75, too. I needed more questions!!!!
My state does quick results, has anyone ever gotten their quick results on a Saturday? I know it says 2 business days but... I am dying here! I was so certain I would pass (I did Hurst review and everything) that I rented an apartment I can't afford.. I am sure I won't keep my job as a GN since I am supposed to come out of orientation Feb. 18th as it is.. what am I gonna do???

Hang in there, emnicams. It might turn out better than you expect.

Please hang in there, normal to come away and feel as if you failed. Good luck
Thank you. I know it is normal, but it seems like everyone who passed talks about all the prioritizing questions they had.. meaning they were doing well and getting higher level questions. I only had a few of those.
And knowing that, I think it made me do worse. Every time I got a med-surg question I freaked out and felt like I was digging myself a deeper hole and couldn't really concentrate on the question.
I wish I had gone into the exam knowing nothing about how it works. I think I would have been a lot less anxious.

I certainly hope you are wrong and that you will find out soon that you passed the test. However, if it will make you feel better, pehaps you should start mapping out concrete plans just in case you did fail the test. Think though the situation in concrete terms rather than just emotional ones. For example, would your hospital hire you in a nursing assistant job temporarily that would help you pay at least some of the costs of the apartment? Do you have parents that could help with the apartment until you passed the test? How long would you have to wait before you could take the test again? etc. etc. etc.
Sometimes, making a concrete plan that covers the "worst case scenario" helps people feel better. Good luck to you.

This was me last semester at finals :plsebeg:. I looked at the first question and didn't know it, second one and didn't know it and so forth. I panicked. When I finally got to a question I did know I didn't feel any relief at all, just shock. I nearly burst into tears three times during the exam and when finished I DID. Went right outside and cried my eyes out. Was POSITIVE absolutely 100% that I hadn't passed. Didn't have ANY hope whatsoever. Three semesters of NS down the drain and since our school had just revamped its curriculum if anyone in my class fails out, we do not return to retake the one failed semester (we have to start at the very beginning). Three hours later was told that I had not only passed but that I'd passed with some leway to spare.
Moral of my story is you don't know what you don't know and until you get the results you can't be sure of anything.
I know NCLEX is really hard, but stories will reveal that EVERYONE thinks that they didn't pass.
Chin up, we're rooting for ya:anpom::anpom::anpom::anpom:
