St. Louis, MO: $12.75 (plus differential for weekend/might)

12.96 plus an additional dollar as a unit clerk. When I was a paramedic, I made 16.50 plus an additional dollar. Any pct shift I picked up I functioned as a paramedic.

I work in Boston, I made 13 dollars an hour with 1.5 years CNA experience, now that I'm a nursing student I get 14. Day shift.

I made 10.20 with two years experience in TN. We're not known for our pay down here

My first position as a PCT with no hospital experience i made 12.75 an hour. That was in Ohio and in the float pool. I worked my way up to about 13 by the next year. I then relocated to GA and got a job in a level one ER where they only payed me 9.75 base pay! I liked the duties of the job, but everytime i thought about how much i was making it ruined my attitude towards work. About one month later I quit and transfered to another hospital's floatpool (where i am now) making about 11.75 base pay. I have 3 years of experience. My next position i will be firm in negotiating my pay rate.

Pay varies so much by location and by hospital, I'm not sure this information is really relevant.

Where I work in Maryland, PCTs start at $12-13/hr. Differentials are offered on top of this.

Allentown, PA 12.53 to start in hospitals and 9.00 in nursing homes. with differentials for both.

Philadelphia, PA

$10.00/hr in a long-term care facility. I work 2nd shift (3-11PM) so I get a shift differential of $1.00 so

I really make $11.00/hr.

In Indianapolis my base rate is $10.00. Another $1.25 after 2pm. Another $2 an hour on weekends. Extra pay for picking up shifts when needed - another $2.50 to $5.00 an hour extra.

Northwest Florida: $9 hour. Shift diff is $1 more for night shifts and $2 for weekends regardless of day/night.

Rochester, NY: $10.64 (+$1.00/evenings, +$1.50/nights)

Just got hired and have no prior experience so getting paid base pay as Patient Care Technician I.

Interesting. When this thread first started in 2012, the pay people stated seemed to be higher than what recent posts show. Gotta wonder if its the massive glut of Nursing students out there pushing down wages.

That may be the case!

TX - $10.92 base/$1 evenings/$weekends

This is my last semester of nursing school so I am not complaining. All my co-workers and education department keeps mentioning to me to go for extern once the winter months roll around which would bump it up to $15/hr

Let's hope that happens!
