Preparing for Nursing school, however I couldnt get over the small pays that some nurses are getting. I work as a Unit clerk in philadelphia and make 14.20 an hour plus .80 evening diff and 1.20 night diff. I have been a Unit secreatary for three years now and when I started I made 12.00 an hour. I am only 21 and I felt that this was to little. Maybe it is the cost of living in the city that makes me think this way but I couldnt imagine being responisble for and doing the hard work the nurses do and making this ammount of money. GN's at our hospital are pain 25-30 an hour with a change in shift differential.
