I earned my LPN license September 2009 and began my RN bridge program May 2013. I am set to finish my program next month. I have worked anywhere between 30 and 45 hours a week the entire year so working F/T and going to school is doable. We do differ in the fact that I have no kids, but like you, have many responsibilities to juggle as I support myself financially. The key is effective time management, the support of family/friends. Do you have a spouse to help out when you begin school?
Your stories are inspiring. And make me feel like a wimp for not being excited about starting back to school. I struggled with my lpn program. Not so much the work it was the time frame I had to complete it in. It was an independent study program though and I think that had a lot to do with it. I will have to commit myself more I know. I just feel guilty for not spending as much time with my kids. Yes I do have a husband who is supportive of me being in school. Unfortunately his job doesn't pay enough for me to work part time or quit all together

I'm just interested in some of your stories.. I completed the lpn program last July. I plan on starting school in August for my prerequisites. How long did you wait to go back to school? Did you continue working? I will still have to work full time. Did you have small children at home? This is what makes me most sad bc my kids are 6 & 1. I had my youngest 3 weeks before my pinning in the lpn program. Thanks all.
