I just got my syllabus today day. I'm just trying to figure out how to fit in the reading with working part time for the first time during school in a stressful hospital unit.

8 hrs for 3 classes.
I got my calendar with the dates and planned out when and how much I would study with extra time built in just in case i run into a subject that is hard for me to grasp. I started Monday. I have already read two of the 5 chapters. Completed my first ATI module, printed off all paperwork for the courses, which is a lot of printing. I have composed notes for chap 27 which covers asepsis.
My hands hurt.
Lol
I do that while being a wife and mom of very young children. All under the age of nine.

About 4 hours a day. No idea how long I can keep that up.

Our professors put up our syllabuses a bit on the late side. I've looked for the answers for the objectives in 4 chapters of gerontology and 2 in mental health. I did the same thing for med surg on a couple of chapters. I'm not trying to get stressed out this semester. But I'm trying to do 3-4 hours a day since I work on the weekend and would only get 2-3 hours of studying in each day on the weekend. I've done about 20 nclex questions today for med-surg. But I'm not studying all those hours at the same time.

I do it in about 2 hour blocks, more if I can handle it (and I have the time).

Good day:
I typically use a base of two hours per credit out treating any 4 credit science with lab class as if they were two separate 3 credit classes. I try to not block more than two hours per clip broken down into 25 minutes of reading, 5 minutes review, 5 minute break with physical activity, and then repeat.
Thank you.

Hi,
I usually do a total of 4-6 hrs a day (4 classes) depending on the week. I try to take a a short break every 2 hrs to walk the dog or just move around. I commute to school so sometimes this includes listening to lectures or chapter summaries in the car. I also work part time and have a family of my own. Good luck this semester!

I do a MAX of one to two hours at a time, and no more than 2-4x/week. And that's really just to go over what we had in class, and maybe do some focused reading in addition to what we covered.
General rule for me is that too much reading and studying just burns me out, so I focus on getting more sleep to distill learning periods and clinicals to maximize the time I have with instructors.
I do break it up. I falsely assumed people would know that. I study 8 hrs a day broken into 2hr increments. I do do 5 days a week.
I basically have a method for all days. One day is for reading, one is for note taking. Then the other 3 are just studying.

Me either! I think I would've lost my mind a long time ago if I studied 8 hours a day, every day!
