Welcome to allnurses enjoy.

You might try the region tab and then go the your state and make your post. You might get a better response there.

Good Luck

Where in CA do you live?

hey, how long did it take you to get into the programs? I'm doing my prereqs right now..and i'm almost done with it. Do u know any Colleges in CA that doesn't have a waitinglist.... ???

I guess it depends what part of Cali you are from. I live in the Bay Area, and have to commute an hour just to get into an ADN program. The schools in my area have three times the amount of applications, and it is a lottery system. The school I go to bases your entrance on grades. Look into the surrounding schools you are interested in and find out their qualifications. If you live in the Bay Area I can tell the schools I applied to and any advice. In the meantime I would take some easy classes to boost up your GPA. It can be a long and frustrating process, so I wish you the very best!

I hope this helps!

Hello! :) and Welcome!

The ADN programs where I live which is in the Inland Empire would be Riverside Community College, Chaffey and Citrus College and Mt. San Antonio College. Unfortunelty, they all have waiting list and competion is high. I felt like you discouraged but I decided to take a LVN course at Citrus which if you pass you are more likely to be able to transfer first to the ADN program and use 18 credits that you get from your LVN program to your ADN. Hope this helps.

If you want to go the LVN route first then go to ADN that will better your chances of getting into a ADN program and you can be working at a hospital with your LVN liscence.

Hope this helped.

Hello, a lot of people go the LVN route because it is easier, faster, and less expensive. I am so thankful to have gotten in my first time. I attend an ADN program at Delta. They go by grades and if you live in district. They will allow about twenty out of district but you usually have to be an A student. If you are interested check out their website!

thank you guys! i'm looking for a program near bay area..or somewhat just here in cali....

Hi, I saw that you are going to Delta and was wondering if you know the answer to my question. I was in the RN program there about 9 years ago and stopped when I had my daughter. I am interested in coming back but was told because they have changed the way you get in now I could not do the rn program because of low pre req grades. Do you know if your science grades expire I was told 7 years. I should have to redo them but can you do that at delta? Thanks for any advice.
