I have regular white nursey clog type shoes and they squeak every time I take a step. Any advice? It's kinda irritating.

If you find that out let me know the answer. Hate going into a patients room trying to not wake them and my shoes go to squeeking.

Baby powder. Take the sole part out and put some baby powder in and then put the sole back in. It's always worked pretty well for me!

It might be the wax they are using on the floors. I've worn various types of shoes over the years, and mine will squeak if they soles are wet and they've just waxed the floors. I know it can be extremely annoying!!! Especially at night when one is trying to be on the quiet side. Good luck : )

If you are talking about them squeaking on the floor when you walk...you know the blue bootie things they wear in surgery etc...well we put them on over our shoes (I work nights too) and they do not sqeak anymore. Very fashionable huh? :rotfl:
I guess I meant the liner thing. My brain isn't working on this early sunday morning. :lol

I have a pair of white rubber type clogs that squeaked all the time, my husband suggested taking out the insoles and lining them with felt. I lined the bottem of the insoles with white felt, I glued the felt in place with elmers glue. "No more squeaking".

Vlsgrl: the "blue bootie things" over the shoes is a great suggestion! Hadn't thought of it, but it's the perfect solution. Thanks,

Okay, maybe I'm slow, but how does felt, or baby powder or whatever, keep the soles of your shoes from squeaking on the floor?

Thanks everyone! I will try the baby powder thing, as I work on a psych floor and we don't typically have blue bootie things handy :)

I thought my shoes were squeaking from the floor, but they still squeaked on carpet. The culprit was the insole rubbing against the rubber of the shoe. When I would take the insole out and put the shoes back on the squeaking stopped. So, by putting felt around the bottom of the insole it prevented the insole from rubbing against the shoe. Hence, no squeaking.
