It will not be a quick process, you need to decide where you want to live, apply to sit NCLEX, pass it and then find a hospital willing to petition you for your greencard. Suggest you read the primer at the top of the International forum

by the way Welcome :groupwelcome:

:yeahthat: Quick & going to America are just not words I'd use in the same sentence!

It's a long & difficult process but one we all hope will be worth it in the end! So welcome to you & now go check out all those forums where they talk about the time line to the USA!

hi donnie

welcome to the 'madhouse'

theres lots of useful information on here, some contradictions but we are a friendly bunch

where are you thinking of going? what area of nursing are you in?

do you have family to emigrate with or will you be coming alone?

quick isnt the watchword here im afraid some of us on here have waited a long time to get as far as we have and we are not there yet

good luck you are in for a long haul, unless you have an american spouse

:D

:welcome: Donnie.

I'm afraid it doesnt matter how much experience you have or what qualifictions you have the loooooooong process is the same. I hope you know how to play the waiting game, we are all getting realy good at it here & if you don't know the game were here to help you learn:rotfl: :rotfl: :roll Just try to get the process started as soon as possible.

so what brings you to the usa donnie?

Thanks to you all for being so kind. But I think you are so wrong. I have a very good friend in work that has got to the USA in a few months of planning to go. He just got on a plane and went.

I need to get out of this country more quickly than 2 years as I am having marital problems.

Thanks

Donnie

don't know how he did it but many of us have been at it over 2 years and still at it, will take atleast 6 months before sit NCLEX and hospital will not petition you without passing it and visas are slowing down with a retrogression looming and no one knows how many countries are going to be affected.. No visa no work

As a UK person you can get on a plane and fly out here and stay for 6 months-but you can't work. :wink2:
