HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?

Don't worry we have the exact same gpa so it's unlikely we won't get in I'm still

nervous also though!

This is the little sheet I was telling y'all about! Does anyone have any back up plans or did you put all your eggs in one basket like me? LoL. (as for applying for ASN programs?)

Ok... here is an updated list! That way we can compare later and give some insight to those who will stalk our board next cycle.

Let me know if I missed you!

I put all my eggs in one basket I mean I am basically in Galen if I transfer all my credits but I rather not be in so much debit after school so I will see how Hcc plays out first.

When I decided to start back school I looked at the requirements for all the nursing programs in my area and started taking classes accordingly all at HCC though since it was cheaper. Fast forward 2 years later I'll finish my AA this December at HCC but have applied to USF, PASCO-HERNANDO, ST PETE COLLEGE, & HCC nursing programs to ensure that I would start somewhere come January. Private schools and Erwins LPN program as a backup but I'm sure I've covered all basis and won't need a back up...

what is your gpa if you don't mind me asking and I will also be graduating come December but since Spc goes by pinellas county students first I know I would be waiting forever and the other school except USF are out of distance for me. So do USF let you take your RN licensure or just bsn courses im confused on they work.

My prerec gpa is a 3.46 overall 3.6 I live in south tampa so everything I pretty much within distance. Usf has a bachelor's program so I accepted you would get your BSN instead of ASN. Once accepted to HCC I would literally transfer to USF anyway so I figured I'd still apply and give it a shot. SPC does give preference to their county first, but I still applied. I didn't want to limit myself to HCC only. I've heard it's easier to get into PHCC compared to other programs. I met the requirements for all these programs so I said hey applying to all of them wouldn't hurt. I'm leaving everything else up to God. Lol

Your right I think I may stick with HCC I didn't plan ahead!!! Oh well I'm pretty confident in getting in I wanna do the concurrent program with USF if I could or just wait.

Sooo my prerequisite gpa is a 3.52 which I really hope is high enough. College algebra really messed me up. On HCCs website though they say you have to have college algebra or a higher math, so since I also took statistics does that count as a higher math since its course number is 2023 and college algebra is 1103? I'm confused about how that all works.

No, statistics doses not count as a higher math course. Pre-calc and calc counts
