HCC Spring 2017 Nursing Program

I was looking at grad school reviews and found this post. I was so excited to see it. I want you to know what a great decision you have made. It will be hard and you may even have a teacher who makes it worse every once in a while,but I promise you, this is a great program. I had some great

teachers too and only one intimidating one. The intimidating one actually wrote me a letter of recommendation for my first job while I was in school. Nursing schools are designed to be ridiculous...I think they do that to prepare you for anything. A lot of schools do this. But try to enjoy the road. It's a great program. HCC nurses are respected.

It may not make much sense as you're going along, but when you graduate and start work you will have the critical thinking skills that some people never get and you will realize what the program's goal was. I was in charge of my cardiac floor within months of my graduation in the top Tampa hospital!

Please, Don't worry so much about grades once you are in the program. The one thing I didn't like is how competitive people got with grades and made others feel bad! Don't get involved. You will know it doesn't matter anyway! Grades do not dictate what kind of nurse you will be! I know you all will do great.

With your GPAs you should be in! Your hard work will pay off. And if you want a mentor, I'm here for you. I love students and I love working with them, to help instill the confidence necessary to enter the workforce and be successful. You can be a great nurse, even when you are a new one! Good luck...I hope to hear from you if you have any questions and also when you get your acceptance letters. As for me I'm finally completing my BSN at State College of Florida. This is a great program too. I'm starting to look at grad programs for adult nurse practitioner. You are entering a profession that has endless opportunities. Currently, I'm a traveling nurse and have been since 2014. It's the most interesting work! I still get to work with students and new grads, and I'm a professional mentor on Facebook for student nurses in other states who I have been lucky enough to precept.

Being a nurse is the hardest thing I have ever done. But it is also the best thing I've ever done. I still love it even if I have an occasional bad day.
