After I said, no deal.................guess what?
My salary will be raised to what I had accepted, travel expences also returned to $500.00...LOL

Run like wildfire! Try to find another agency asap. This is a red flag in your face.
This is the RN Network, which I didn't think was part of the evil empire........
I thought I had done my homework checking them out, et...

That is unacceptable. Sounds to me like they took advantage of you because they know you're new. If the recruiter made a "mistake" there's no reason you should have to pay for it.
Next time, don't just accept what they tell you. Ask for the details, in writing, before agreeing to anything. And, whenever they quote your hourly salary be sure to ask if it is a blended rate. What you want to know is EXACTLY what your hourly rate will be--- excluding housing, travel, per diem allowance, car, insurance, bonuses, and so forth. Some recruiters will get annoyed that you are asking this but if you don't then you shouldn't be surprised to find that the $45 an hour they were quoting you is suddenly reduced to $26 an hour. If that happens, tell them goodbye and call another agency.

Deleted.....double post
I have had employers that have spoken with forked tongue concerning salaries, benefits, etc. when dealing with different employees. It never bothered me as long as I received what was promised to me. I became disillusioned when I found out the different treatment after being told that everyone in the same category got the same, which turned out to be untrue. Then I found out how large the disparity for employees less qualified, and hired after me. It started to matter when the song was: "We can't afford....." Well, if you can afford X amt for Suzy Q, and Jonny W, then you can afford plenty more for the rest of us. This is how employers like those in the Evil Empire get bad reps from potential employees. It is not always what you do or say to your employees, it is that you are truthful, fair, and equitable in what you do or say. It comes back in the end.
