OK please send me some encouraging words to get me through the next 2 weeks! I am grumpy and tired and just feel like whining or laying my head on my desk. I don't want field day or moving up day or summer birthday celebration day I just want it to be summer vacation!!! The adults in and outside of the building are driving me more nuts than the kids at this point and I just need parole!

School workers get just as excited as kids for summer. I see it as I get to work one FT job instead of two. Just stay in your office and avoid eye contact. Good luck.

Shut the door, turn on Pandora and start packing. Like Mr Nurse said, hunker down. It'll be over before you know it.

Yes! Pack it up! It will help you realize how close you are to Summer.
Treat yourself to an iced coffee, or whatever you like.
If it helps, I notice everyone in my building is crabby! (Including me.)
Kind of regretting taking a summer job, but having a paycheck may soften that blow.

I am right there with you! Everyone at my school is feeling it this year.
I did my supply order for next year which helped my mood. I'm a dork, though, because ordering supplies takes me to my happy place.

Me too! This is actually a very good idea. Let the browsing begin...
Thanks everyone! I'm feeling a bit better today (maybe because it's Friday). This end of year has been the hardest by far of all my years. Thankfully a few weeks on the beach will cure me of all the grumpiness! Happy Friday!

Speaking for the vast majority of nurses that do NOT get an entire summer off, I am having trouble arousing sympathy in this case.

Well, the flip side is we never get OT, shift bonus etc...it is all about the career track you choose.

Buck up, camper! You can do it!
Just repay the pep-talk when I have to go back in less than two months & you're still on the beach.

What an odd comment, posting this on the "School Nurse's" board. They have my utmost sympathy because I could never do what they do for 9+ months a year. Nope nope nope...
You made your choice, we made ours.
