set of scrubs. How did you feel when you first started your schooling/career and bought your first set of scrubs?
I bought mine a few days ago. I felt important! I felt giddy and excited! Yea, I know, I'm a weirdo. But I am an excited weirdo!
So spill it, how did you feel?

I was so excited when I picked up my first pair of monogrammed scrubs...
After graduation, we all had a party and burned up those same scubs. :lol2:

I was excited going to get them, but when I got to the store I found out we had to get the exact style that they had on the list. They are a style I would NEVER in a million years buy if given a choice....which sucked all the joy out of it! I'm dreading having to wear these things. I'm planning on being a rule breaker already...
The day wasn't a total loss...buying the steth and BP cuff made up for it.

Had a full blown panic attack the first time I put them on - ears rang, loss of vision, SOB. Went away after the vastness of the workload sunk in and I got over the "new" of the scrubs.

I tried on scrubs for the first time a few days ago in preparation for the start of nursing school next week.
I was so disappointed! I've gained some weight since I quit smoking 2 years ago and none of the scrubs I tried on fit or else they were so big it looked like I was wearing a tent! School is having a scrub sale soon; maybe their selection will fit me better.
I also bought my first stethoscope that day! It's sooo cool. I can hardly wait to use it on someone other than my chihuahua And it fits me perfectly!

Unfortunately, scrubs weren't allowed in M/S when I started. My first uniform was a white dress. I did my best to find one that wasn't ugly, though, and I was very proud to don it, with those pantyhose and orthopedic shoes!

My school scrubs are navy with script school logo... very professional-looking. Fortunately, I didn't have to wear a white dress.
I tried them on and had my wife take pictures of me in the scrubs. I was very excited and shared that excitement with my family and other students, knowing full well that I was being such a geek. Enjoy your scrub moment.

It's been years but I still remember-I felt like a total imposter! Like-OMG- people are going to think I'm a NURSE or something...Oh yeah-that's the IDEA! (Apparently that's not an uncommon reaction to being in uniform on the floor for thr first time)! I also remember when they had us come to the school and try them on for size. They had us step into the Nursing Lab, little did I know there was a mannikin in the bed in that room. (I'm sure they heard me scream in the next building)!

Mine were from Walmart. They were ugly, too long, and I didn't feel right in them. If I hadn't have been so skint I'd have gone for something classier.

For school my first thought was "oh my god I am a freaking student and I have to spend HOW MUCH on this ugly white scrub set?"
When I started working my thought was "Oh my god I just finished two grueling years of school and you won't even let me wear white to prove it?"
LOL. My how my thoughts changed in two years! :)

Hey, don't feel bad. That's how scrubs fit everybody.
How funny! My chihuahua RUNS for the hills when he sees me coming with my stethoscope! LOL :uhoh21:
