A female nurse accused me of threatening her and ultimately I was suspended with pay. The crazy part about this situation is that this nurse worked with agency and was mad at me for turning her in for not doing doing any treatments or charting. In the end I still have my job, but what do you guys think of this.

No she has been the person in my whole professional career to say something like that about me
She very upset at me due to fact that I didn't let her slide by not doing her work. It's just amazing that a person would go to that length over something that shouldn't have been done from the start

Agree with this. She has threatened your livelihood. Don't let her get away with it. Furthermore, if you have legal representation, your employer will think twice about unjustly canning you.
Especially because these are the kind of allegations that WILL follow you. I hope you can clear your name and when you do sue the pants off of her.

I've sort of kind of been through both situations of being accused of allegedly having threatening behavior toward a female peer and suspended with pay for allegedly being insubordinate.
Both situations came out in the wash. As I was terminated for the alleged threatening behavior, an adjudicator for the department of employment security ruled that nothing I said or did was inappropriate and I received benefits for the weeks that I had no job.
When I was suspended with pay for alleged insubordination, I met with the assistant CEO and he offered me a different position with the same facility and a couple of days to think about it.
A buddy of mine said, "You should have asked him for another week of suspension with pay because you hadn't learned your lesson yet!"

I've been thinking about your situation, Nurse_mike and let me tell you what I would do if it was me: I'd wait and see what happens and follow through accordingly.
Since an accusation of threatening behavior's been made by an agency nurse (who is most likely retaliating against you), administration has to act. They suspended you in order to do an investigation. The suspension came with pay.
I've been suspended twice in my career. Once, as previously noted. The other time, it was without pay, but I filed for unemployment benefits and won. Then, a year and a half later the nurses association went to bat for me, got all charges dropped, and I received back payment. So, in essence, I was paid twice for my 15 day suspension without pay!
Do whatever you feel comfortable with, Nurse_mike, but I think it's all going to be okay.

Okay- some more thoughts: While I was suspended with pay, I did some research and one thing I did was to contact a lawyer friend of mine. I wanted to gather as much data as possible and feel somewhat prepared for what was going to occur.
My lawyer friend advised me to write down everything the administrator said in the meeting. I remember at one point, the administrator asked why I was taking so many notes and I responded, "I've been advised by legal counsel to do so".
I guess that could have carried some weight, but I also believe the plan to offer me another position was already in the works.
Who knows?
