How do you pass the nclex on the second try!!! I studied so hard for 2 months+ on my first try and now I dont know what to do..my retest date is approaching really soon!!!

Did you do a Nclex review study course? I think it might be helpful. I did Kaplan, I passed the Nclex on the first try with only 75 questions. I know Kaplan is a little pricey but I found it to be very helpful. F.Y.I, nope I don't work for Kaplan.

Did you get your report from the board stating what areas you did good on and what areas needed more work? Use that as your template for your studying. Do you have a deadline to meet that you must take the test "soon"? If you don't I'd suggest your reschedule your date for later when you feel a bit more prepared. Good luck.

Are you a 'test anxiety' kind of person? Sometimes the answer is to review what you know you didn't do well on, then go get a drink and relax. I have a friend who failed the NCLEX 3 times....by OVERstudying. He glanced over a few things and went on vacation for a week before the 4th test....and passed with 75 questions.

Having said that, if you didn't take Kaplan....go take it. I understand it's worth it. (No, I didn't take Kaplan...and I don't work for them either)

Sorry you didn't get it the first time. But as my friend always says...."You know what they call a nurse that takes 4 times to pass the NCLEX?" :) I'm sure you know the answer. :)

You will pass it next time.

Take your time, don't rush, be really ready this time. If you dont feel good about it better to reschedule. Do lots of questions in the study mode try to cover all the subjects. Free your mind of negative thoughts. You can do this.

I too agree with taking Kaplan. I did and passed the first time surprisingly. I was prepared to not pass the first time and take it a second because I have awful test anxiety. Good luck to you!!!

You've graduated nursing school so you know the material! as the others have said, don't overstudy. relax the night before the test and walk in with a positive attitude. Ask for earplugs, kick your shoes off and read your questions slowly and carefully. Don't ask yourself "what if" for each question! Good Luck!

Read content and practise question in test mode to see how far you can go with minimum question. Wish all the best!

Do not rush to resit the exam, practise practise questions and read the rationale. Have a study plan that is different from the first time and stick to it.

I took Kaplan in June and studied for a month and a half. esp the content from Saunders and Kaplan book. I really really focused on the content because I knew I was very weak in the content. I also used Lacharity prioritization, delegation, and assigment book. I only got 5 meds and 2-3 sata and passed with 75 questions.

If I can do it, then you can do it too. I almost failed the peds in nursing school and my ati predictor was 48% first try to pass Nclex. Even I couldnot focus, I still studied the day before the test.

I will highly recommened Kaplan, it's worthed the price. KNow your content!!!

i also failed after studying hard. i found it helpful to studying with someone. if you happen to live in indianapolis, IN maybe we can study to gether.
