Failed Nclex first Attempt in FL, NY?

Published

Hello everyone,

I failed NCLEX on first attempt in FL on 1/14/15. Thinking of going to take it in NY for the second time. I have read about some that failed in FL and went to NY and they passed.

WHAT IS YOUR INTAKE if you have been in the same situation or know someone in the same boat?

I have been doing a lot of research to see what I can do differently. Thank you all for your support. :)

The state makes no difference. It's a national test meaning the same test in every state. Questions are pulled from a giant database so they will be different but each state uses the same database.

Thanks for the feedback. Its probably a physiological thing and change of environment.

It is a national test, the same in all states.

Some states will allow only so many retakes before they mandate a remedial course in order to take it again. In Florida you can only take it 3 times, so some people go out of state if they failed it 3 times to avoid the course. They are likely passing in Ny because it is their 4th try and they know what to expect.

If you go out of state to take it, be sure you can move your license back to Florida if that's where you plan to work.

Thanks scaredsilly, I will do the research on the requirement to transfer lic to florida.

What state you take the NCLEX in does not matter, it's what state you're sitting for. I just took the NCLEX in NM for SC. You can take the NCLEX on the moon if there's a Pearson center there, haha. The board that you're sitting for gets the information, not the state that you take the test in.

As long as you meet the criteria to become licensed in NY, you can apply to the NYS BoN for a license and ATT for NCLEX. You don't have to BE in New York, but you do have to be eligible for a license there.

Yeah, take it in New York, it's so much easier here.

Unless you have a burning desire to travel half a country away to take the exact same test and I can't imagine why you would there is no need. The NCLEX is standardized, the same test [though not the same questions] no matter where you take it. You just apply to the state you want the results sent to for licensure, not necessarily the state you are taking the test in.

She can still apply Florida BON and take exam in New York or somewhere else. I am getting Georgia license but will take exam here in NYC before I move there. And I will have Georgia license only

Also there is some random discussing in New York, people thinks New York test harder than any other states. And people in New York trying to take in New Jersey lol

They thinks, Nclex giving some hard questions specifically to New York exam taker.
