Hello all,
I just finished my first semester of my BSN program, and I survived to tell the tale. Lol. I came out with an A in Fundamentals, an A in Pharmacology, an A in my introductory class, and a B in Health Assessment.
I have learned so much this semester. I remember how I freaked out over how to properly perform a bed bath at the beginning of the semester and can't help but chuckle. It was an extremely tough semester and I am more than ready for this break.
How did you all do?

I should focus more on studying for finals right now but I've been distracted all day!
Um my semester was mixed. A lot of adjusting to my classmates and to touching bodies, etc. Learning to trust myself when caring for someone else with the skills and assessment techniques I learned.
I am hoping to get all A's. One grade is a 93.6 and I hope the final will pull it up but we'll see.
Enjoy your break!

I have one more final next week and I will be done. I made B's in Pharm. and Health Assessment and am probably going to make a B in Fundam. I too am so ready for this semester to be over. I just found out that I got an intern job I applied for at one of the major hospitals and will begin working next week. I am so nervous but excited at the same time. Hoping that I can gain a good relationship with them and have a job waiting when I graduate.

Congrats on your grades! How many semesters do you have for your BSN?
aingram - congrats and good luck on the new job!
Today was my last day. I had a high A in A&P I and came out with an A. For Fundamentals I was borderline A/B before the final. I had to get at least a 91 to get an A and somehow managed a 99. So an A in both A&P I and Fundamentals :) Not quite sure how I managed that. Clinicals were a big deal for me as a shy introvert. I think that was the biggest challenge I faced this semester.
Right now I feel absolutely lost as I feel like I should be studying or doing homework.

I just completed my first semester of a part-time MSN program. I earned 'A' grades in the two courses in which I had been enrolled, Nursing Ethics and Nursing Research.
The completion of this first semester of graduate school carries some personal significance. A number of people have implied or outright said that I am 'stupid,' including people who are supposed to care about me. While I'm not the brightest person in the world by a long shot, my academic achievements reaffirm that I am capable of more than many of my naysayers.

I finish my first semester next week. Looking at probably a B which I am fine with. I'm just happy to be able to say 25% done!

I just finished Fundamentals for my ADN program. Final is on Monday, I'm expecting a B+. I've learned so so so much. My I didn't find find the content hard to understand. I like how everything connects. I love seeing lecture and lab come to life in clinicals.
I had a great, responsible, hardworking clinical group and 2 awesome clinical instructors. The nurses at the med surg floor were welcoming and didn't make us feel like a burden.
At my clinical evaluation my instructor told me that the sky is the limit, that I have what it takes to be a nurse, and that the floor manager complemented me! Cloud 9. Like, remember my face when I come back in 1.5 years, lol.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and wished I had considered nursing before.

I have 3 more semesters! I'm a quarter of a nurse...lol. Those grades are awesome, and you should be very proud of yourself! Clinicals were a challenge for me too, even though I'm fairly outgoing. I don't know what to do with all of this free time, but I'm sure enjoying it. :)

I am totally feeling this way at the moment. I just finished the semester yesterday, so I plan on being a couch potato today and start cleaning my house tomorrow .

Congrats to everyone finishing up their quarter/semester!
I finished my first quarter of my BSN program in November. I laughed, I learned, I met great people, and there were definitely tears (anyone else cry when you got home after your first clinical? I felt so lost it was all I could do to hold back the tears while I was driving to avoid an accident).
It was all worth it. I got a B+ in Fundamentals Theory, A- in Clinical, B in Pathophysiology (cognate), and an A in intro to psychology (cognate). I'm pretty happy with my grades, especially patho considering most of us were expecting C's in that patho class. It was the first upper division (300 level) class I've taken, and I can definitely see a difference.
Now in January, I will start Med/Surg I (theory and clinical), pharm, and lifespan (cognate). My program is a three year, so I won't graduate until spring 2018. I was able to finish my prereqs and a majority of my gen ed in one year though, plus I got accepted the first time I applied, so it will still only be a total of four years for me. Most people take five years at my school though.
I've been on break a while already, so I'm ready to start this next quarter already!
I did the same thing. Didn't do anything the first two days and now I am cleaning my house. We have already received our assignments for next semester but I am not doing anything until after Christmas.
