Does Your Facility Have the flu shot yet?

Ours doesn't. We won't have it til probably early November, but they said "Don't worry, that when fly season really begins to pick up" (or something along those lines)...

UM- NO! Folks out in the community are already getting their shots. I don't really want one, but a pregnant ER nurse- no way in hell I'm NOT getting it, KWIM? I'm surely going to be exposed at some point this season.

Guess I'll be going to the drive up clinics and requesting mine and paying for it. -A

My hospital has been offering them since about 14th October. But they are not available in the community (or at least at my doctors) until sometime in November

Didn't get one myself this year... felt unwell when I had one for the first time, last year (told it was a coincidence). I'm fit & healthy, no medical conditions, so I reckon I dont need it

They just gave them out to the employees 2 days ago.

Patients have been able to get them for a few weeks now. On admission, all patients are screened to see if they need the pneumonia shot and flu shot, and will get it if indicated (and not refused)

Of course, on my cardiac floor, where the people not only have heart disease, but often other health problems as well, this is a wonderful thing.

Yep, they came around to the nursing stations with them a couple weeks ago... I have never gotten one before, but the only ill effects I got from it (luckily!) was a sore arm for the rest of the night. :) It really burned going in though, but I did not get sick! :)

Yes, they came around yesterday offerring them, got several takers.

Yes, we've been giving it to patients for a several weeks. I haven't heard about staff getting them yet, I'm not sure when they are planning on that.

My university has them & offered them at a health fair last week. I got one and it was fine.

Started giving them out last week!

Starting them soon at our facility for staff. I'm still very undecided.

Employee health starting giving them out a couple of weeks ago. I was undecided and was leaning towards not getting it. Then another nurse wanted to get one and wanted some moral support so I went with her and went ahead and got it. Pretty weak reason, huh? Oh well, I was probably going to get it since my husband truly had the flu last year (you know, sick as a dog for a week then sickly and weak for another 4-6 weeks). Another nurse there was also getting a pneumonia shot as she was prone to pneumonia. I didn't know until then that employee health gave those too. I don't need it but nice to know.

I work at a 3 doc office and we have been giving them out for the last few week's. A whole lot of our pts are going to Flordia for the winter and are getting them here before heading South. Last Wed i did 22 flu shot's in 3 hour's. Busy morning.
