Do Nurses have to clean up after patients'?
For instance, if a patient throws up all over themselves or poops on themselves, do Nurses have to clean them up?
What is the most disgusting thing that you have done for a patient?
Give me the dirty 'lowdown' on the gritty work that some Nurses are forced to endure.

Who do you think does it? I'm curious. My great aunt thinks its all the "orderlies" -- Um, I haven't seen an orderly outside of a black and white movie....
Does it matter what degree you have?
Do the lvns, and Adns do the cleaning?
Or do Bsn nurses also have to clean?

It is part of a good nurses job. A poor nurse will let the patient sit in their filth until a CNA can come and clean them up. I have no use for nurses who think that cleaning a pt is beneath them.

I even saw a Resp Therapist putting on gloves and gown to help clean up my twin when he was in ICU. My dad even commented to her about it because he didn't think it was part of her job.
I think alot of people (medical and non-medical) do see it as a CNA's job. I know when I was doing my CNA clinicals at a nursing home, I ran into an RN like that.

I just call a code brown and suddenly the room is swarming with helpful people from all over the hospital.
