  1. Where is the best place to work if cleaning bodily fluids make you really queasy and uncomfortable? Or is this something that any nurse must be able to handle?
  2. I was wondering if there were any nurses who strictly work the day shift? Are all Nurses required to work the graveyard shift? I would like to pursue a career in the nursing field, but I cannot handle the graveyard shift (Ive already tried in my previous job) Is there hope for me in the nursing field? Also, what types of nurses are there? Is is possible to work OUTSIDE of the hospital with just a 2yr degree? Thanks for any info.
  3. ^ Wow this post was very moving. (the best post in this entire thread Imo) Thank you. I can see very clearly now. Nursing probably isn't the right career path for me.
  4. How sad.. I just really want to know what kinds of duties that a Nursing job entails. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
  5. Thanks for that response.
  6. Does it matter what degree you have? Do the lvns, and Adns do the cleaning? Or do Bsn nurses also have to clean?
  7. This question may sound silly, but Im really curious.
  8. Do Nurses have to clean up after patients'? For instance, if a patient throws up all over themselves or poops on themselves, do Nurses have to clean them up? What is the most disgusting thing that you have done for a patient? Give me the dirty 'lowdown' on the gritty work that some Nurses are forced to endure.
  9. wow absolutely brilliant responses. Keep them coming.
  10. So what your saying is.. A RT's job is easier than a nurse's?
  11. Im debating between the two and I'm at my wits end! I don't know which career is better suited for me. Can you guys help me out? If you could go back in time, would you pursue a career as Respiratory therapist over RN? What are some of the advantages and disadvantages between the two fields? Which one gets paid more? Which one has MORE responsibilities? Which one is more demanding? Which one is better in the long run? Which one will be in high demand when I graduate?
  12. I was rinsing my cup out with some ajax soap... just a few drops. I didn't rinse the cup thoroughly.. I filled the cup up with water, and drank it. I didn't realize that there were soap bubbles in my cup until I was already half way through drinking the entire cup. Please help. ?? Do I need to go to the ER? Or do anything here at home to better the situation? Is the dish washing soap going to damage my insides?
  13. Wow, thank you all for all of the great responses. This is an excellent forum. Do all nurses work inside of a hospital? And are all nurses require to work the graveyard shifts?
  14. So I would like to pursue a career as a nurse. There are so many questions that I have. First of all, Im 20 yrs old living in Tx. I'd like to get an associates degree in nursing, and was wondering if I could land a decent job with just an associates degree.. I would eventually continue to get a Bsn in the future, but I would work with the Adn degree for a few years. Will I be making a decent amount of money with just the Adn?? Please give me your input. Also, I was wondering if clinicals were early in the morning during Nursing school. What should I expect upon entering nursing school? Is the program heavy in math? If so, what type? Thanks so much in advance for any info!
