(Stupid Question)
For example, If I'm scheduled to be done with all of my pre-reqs in spring 2012 can I still apply to nursing schools before I graduate? When I say early application I mean sending my application in fall 2011. Is that possible?

a lot of nursing programs want you to be done with your pre-req's because the program is so intense. The program also has a lot of applicants that they will consider first if theya re done with they're pre-reqs before they will look at you because you arent done. This is something to consider. You also have to score high on your NET test and have at least a 3.0 GPA

It depends on the school. My school has certain courses that you have to take before you can apply - things like a CNA course, STNA course, organic and bio chemistry, freshman English, and a couple of others. You cannot apply until after those courses have been completed (and you take the HESI). My school also has co-reqs - anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, statistics, microbiology, speech, etc. that have to be completed before you graduate. Most people take those courses before they start in the nursing program, there is usually a wait list at my school. The school even recommends taking them first because of the intensity of the program.
So, it depends on the program and whether you mean true pre-reqs, which are by their nature "pre" or more along the lines of co-reqs and simply need to be taken at some point before graduation.

At my school you have to be done with all your prereq. before you start the program. For example I got accepted into the fall 2010 class and we'll start in August. The application deadline to apply for fall was Feb.1 2010 and I was taking my last 2 prereqs and that semester ended in may, so I was able to fill out an application while still in my prereq classes.

My school's policy is the prereqs have to be completed or "in progress" at the time of application. The only exception is the PE requirement. It is required for graduation but not acceptance in to the nursing program.
I will be enrolled in A & P II in the fall of '11 when I apply for the spring '12 program.
thank you everyone.

I asked my school adviser before with this same question and the lady told me that I have to complete all the pre-reqs before apply to the program. So I guess every school is different.
I have a question, I know it's a dumb one but hopefully someone can answer it for me. So if I'm completed my pre-reqs and all the courses does that mean I can graduate, or I have to wait until I complete and pass the nursing program inorder to graduate w/ a AS Degree?

You need to complete and pass the nursing program to get the degree.
Thank you Connie1222 for the reply.
I just need to complete 3 more classes (Ana, Physio, Micro) then I'm ready to apply for the ASN program but since the program is so competitive so I guess I would stop there. Now I just wanna become a LVN as my next step. My big dream is to become a RN but I guess I would have to wait until I familiar and good w/ the LVN skills and everything then that's the time I will ready for RN school. But for now I just wanna aim for the LVN:).

It sounds like you're going to give up on getting into an RN program without even applying
