Just wondering if the RN's out there plan on staying at the bedside for their whole career or do you plan on one day doing something that is not "bedside" nursing?
Me?
yes, one day I pan to to something like case management. It may be soon or it may be in 10 years.
I have been an RN for 13 years.

Maybe--I have thought about going into nursing education down the road. But right now let me rack up my first year's experience and the RN-BSN

I plan on leaving at some point to pursue a more public health, education avenue, but for now I am learning everyday.

Yes I do. Been an RN for 2 years now and already feeling burned out. Actually thinking of leaving nursing altogether to become an RD/nutrition and to pursue my ultimate dream in culinary arts!

I'm out of maternity leave ATM, and I hoping our financies will support me not returning. If I don't go back after the baby, I will probably obtain a degree in another feild during my time out.

Definitely will leave the bedside some day. For now, I have too much to learn.

Yes,
thanks for asking.
I'm leaving bedside in next few months.
I'm going into school nursing. I've done some subbing, and as soon as there is a opening in a school I like that is near me I'll take it.
I've been doing bedside nursing for 17 years now.
I think the hours will work out well for me. will have same schedule as kids. I've done some subbing and I'm not as exhausted at end of day. I have a special way with kids. I've been thinking about this for a while
and am now going to do it.
I hate change:cry:and will be sad to leave my coworkers. they are like family to me. we have a great team at work:cry:
but Its time for me to try something new.
