Do you do anything on your bulletin board to count down the last 30 or so days? I'm looking for ideas for our special education office ?
Thanks!

Last year I had my lead team make a chain for my office and then I removed one link each dayOne of my teachers has a really cute board that's all summery with the countdown in the middle

I have a countdown in my planner, mostly so that I can tell my parents of students who take daily meds to "send in x amount of pills to finish off the school year," but I don't display anything.
I'm always afraid of giving the wrong "vibe" and it being interpreted negatively.

I have the number written on each day on my wall calendar. There is a poster in the teacher lounge that has the "big" things from the year, new teacher, retirees, news events, school news events etc. It is a long held tradition here (20 years).

I'm not worried about this- it's in an office that only staff ever go into but we like to do something fun each year. One year was a paper chain, another was a balloon to pop each day, etc.

Oh totally. I wasn't trying to imply that you should feel worried. I was just "speaking" my thoughts out loud.

My first two years I had a bulletin board I was responsible for and I would make a big countdown starting at 24 days left. I would cross out each day as it would pass. The last two years, I haven't had a board, so I just do a 10 day countdown on my whiteboard on my office door. I do keep a calendar with the days left at my desk so I can estimate meds needed and such.

Nothing fancy - I made a paper chain with 30 links pinned on the bulletin board next to my calendar - my scheduled med kiddos get a kick out of being the chosen one to remove a daily link.

I did this a couple of years ago, under each number was a health tip for summer break. Since then I've just been to lazy to do one so my board for March is still up.

I love it!

I find it helpful for those kids who are a little glum about school. I remind them that we are in the home stretch and can let them know how few days we have left. You have to be careful though, as some high achievers will get anxious if they are preparing for Regents and deadlines for projects...so you definitely need to know your student. ?

33 days and counting! I numbered the days on my calendar. A couple of my regulars look at my calendar each time they come in to get the number.
