CSULB Fall 2015 Applicants-Basic BSN

I haven't received anything yet. I'm checking everyday!

No email for me either. Since alternates didn't get an email about orientation, do we show up or not?

Does anyone know what the cut-off point to get into this Fall 2015 is? I'm going to apply for Spring 2016 and very willing to know. I would appreciate a lot!

I would guess it was around 9.4

Earlier in the thread one person said the cut off was 9.5 but idk if that is true or not

I'm debating it. I already got accepted into CSULA's nursing program and I don't know whether to go there or apply to CSULB in the spring :/

Is csulb your first choice?

I think some school allow you to reserve your pot a semester, you can ask for that. Yes, csulb is my first choice coz it's near me.

It looks like I'm going to be giving up my spot at CSULB for CSULA so hopefully someone here on the wait-list gets some good news soon.

Honestly, it really comes down to money and location. I don't have any extra cash saved to live near campus for CSULB so I'd have to commute. From the greater LA area the commute isn't too bad, but if you're leaving long beach in the late afternoon/evening it's probably 2+ hours commuting.

Personally, the only reason I would choose CSULB would be the trimester program. The NCLEX passing rates are a non-factor because in the end it depends on the student. They are both great programs with the general consensus that most view CSULB a little more favorably but I know a few CSULA students that enjoyed the program there. Those same students got hired at great hospitals such as CHLA, UCLA, Cedars, and USC. If you're looking at graduate school afterwards, CSULB is probably a better choice since they don't run a +/- grading system.

In the end just go with the program you think you'll be happiest with.

I did the opposite. I got accepted to both CSULA and CSULB. I live kinda far from both, about 38 miles from csula and 48 miles from csulb, but the 10 freeway is packed so the commute is basically the same all the time. I went to both campuses and CSULA looks and feels like a prison. The environment at CSULB is much more relaxed and friendly. Also, another reason is when I got accepted to CSULA they were changing from quarters to semesters, and didn't know how that was going to affect the nursing schedule. Quick question, did the CSULB nursing department (Ms. Ward) email you with a location of the orientation? I have the date and time, but not the location. See you June 12th.
