Okay, I thought the local community colleges offered CPR training as part of their continuing education programs...and I think I recall seeing "CPR classes on such and such date" on their info boards in the past, but now that I am actually looking to take one, I can't find one. Does anyone know if any community facility offers CPR certifications (hospital/fire department/etc), or should I expect that the community colleges will offer one over the next couple of months?

I'm not sure what state you are in, but if you go to the Red Cross website, you might be able to find a certification class near you.

If you have adult continuing education in your area, call the campuses there. Also, give the community colleges a call. Sometimes they send out catalogs (in my area) but sometimes they don't, especially if things are financially tight.
And thanks for reminding me that I need to renew :)

Here a link form the American Heart Association website to search for classes near you:

I hope this helps.

Call your local YMCA. They usually offer classes for about $30.00.

Make sure you check & see which one the program you want to enter requires. I know some schools & jobs specifically ask for AHA. Good luck :)

I would suggest you call the college and just ask. At my cc, they have classes twice a month on Satudays for CPR. You can also call the local health department or other colleges to ask. Just make sure the CPR course meets your nursing program's requirements.

i noticed from your profile that you are from north carolina. one of the following centers might be convenient.
as previous posters have stated, you might also try contacting area hospitals, ems/fire services, or any community college with either an ems or nursing program.
i have no association with any of these agencies and only posted these links as possible resources.
i hope this information was helpful.

Not only that but you may have to take CPR for the Healthcare provider which is different from community CPR.

I got mine from our local hospital but if you are going to be getting into a Nursing Program anytime soon make sure which CPR class they require so you don't have to take again. Our school was very specific in WHAT KIND of Cpr class we had to take.
