Just wondering if anyone else on here has applied to CCAC for the spring 2011 semester?

Featured Replies

hi everybody :)

.... i just got my acceptance letter into the spring 11 semester at cal

after 2 years! so excited :yeah:

congratz :) hard work does pay off eh?

Aye, not sure I'm ready to drive to allegheney county just yet, everywhere I've called will only do the titer and drug test if you have a prescription even the place Shannon recommended. Any calu students know of a local place for the drug test and titer?

Ok scratch that I found One place that would do the drug test but it's $326 :) how much are they in Pittsburgh? XD

At the Allegheny County Health Dept., the TB test is free, the titers are $15/ea. but Hep B titer is $25, and tdap shot is $10 (I needed that one!).

I paid $95 total and was in and out in less than an hour. It tends to get busy after 4pm, so go during the day if you can and DONT park at CVS or Arbys-apparently they tow like crazy.

With the 2 step tb test, you have to go back like 4 times. I have to go back Friday to get the results of the one I got yesterday, then next wednesday for the 2nd step, then Friday for those results.

I'm so glad I didnt wait with any of the paperwork-especially the fingerprinting. 4-6 weeks for something in the mail. Crazy!!

Aye, I have everything else done, work is going to do my 2nd tb test for me in 10 days and med express will do a school physical for 20$. Although that is a really good deal for the titer, I had someone quote me at 490$. Does the health department do drug tests? I can't imagine they do. Pretty sure my insurance won't cover it as well.

I had my drug test done at South Hills Medical Building on the Jefferson Regional Medical Center campus. It was $35 I believe. You need an appointment. I think this is their number (412) 469-5983

Ty just figured it out :) for the calu students fayette county drug and alcohol will do them for $45 just make an appointment.

For those trying to find a place for the drug test or physical, you can get both bone at Concentra in Oakland. The drug test was $60, and she said they also offer the physical for I think $59 or something like that. I had to have 5 titers and the dpt. My total at the health dept was $95. Sounds like me and RM had the same things done.

I have everything done now too, with the exception of waiting on results of the titers. Sheesh, I'd rather just take the mmr vaccine again for about the fourth time and get it over, but whatever. I had my physical at my doc's office-- he said as soon as the health dept signs off on those, he will sign off on the physical. I had fingerprinting done in Oakland at the UPS store-- she said that takes 6-8 weeks. Other seem to say 4-6. I figure they are just supposed to say 6-8 weeks; who knows...

Med express will do school physicals for $20 :)

good site for your stethoscopes: www.allheart.com. I got the 3M Littmann Master Cardiology Stethoscope

fingerprinting results amazingly came back today, exactly one week after having them taken

oh wow, nice. Have you had them done recently? I had to have them done for my job before, apparently if you're already in the system you get the results faster.
