I had a conversation with somebody, and informed them nurses were starting to protest protesters. they person basically said it's all about self perseverance and they don't care if nurses die. they do not believe in the strategies to mitigate improper PPE, staffing shortages, hospital capacity, etc... healthcare related. because the threat doesn't exist or is minimal. as long as they can get back to work and have a steady income, "we don't care about nurses."

In actuality, much like the demagogues that give them their marching orders from their protected mansions, they have no respect or consideration for ANYONE. Least of all the health care professionals who are on the front lines.
If they want to work there's not a pharma, grocery store, big box store , home and yard store, LTC in the country now that isn't hiring. Nothing is stopping them from working.

Yes, the saying, “Better thee than me!” applies.

There are some loudmouths protesting, yes. But many are merely justifiably concerned about the economy, their livelihoods, businesses.
I'm seeing a lack of empathy from both sides. I've seen, on the other side of the coin, people with secure incomes throwing insults at people who are worried about paying their mortgage.
As usual, people have become polarized over this. There's a lot of drama on both sides. This is all very unprecedented, and it's natural for people to have strong feelings about it. I think people should try to be more understanding of one another.

If your buddy told you what you posted above, you don't need another job, you need another friend.

They can all find another job. Nobody is forcing them to be in a career that is on hold. Their mother is still forced to be their mother but maybe they don't care if they give it to her for her birthday party.

Not surprised by this, in fact, I hope that nurses aren’t performing these jobs because we rely on what people think about us.
