I took the Rn nclex today. 254 questions and 3 hrs later, no good pop up for me... I got the cc page. I am so upset. I can't believe this is happening. I don't even know how or where to begin again.

I'm sorry but please don't give up. I'm in the same boat and I'm determined to pass NCLEX. What did you use to prepare?

Don't be discouraged, Look at the other posts on this nclex section. Almost every other thread is about someone taking it the 2nd or 3rd time. Take a break, read some quotes, hang out with friends and take your mind off it. It may be hard but definitely is not impossible
I used books from saunders, Lippincott, Hurst, Kaplan, the delegation book, and exam prep. I don't know what else to use. Any suggestions?

just focus on one, and stay with that. check what is your style if Q/A or if you need to read the concepts first then answer questions. Take a prep course, if you can. it is always valuable and productive. good luck!

The fact that you went 254 questions to me says that it's probably NOT content that you need to work on. You were right on the bubble between pass and fail. Wait for the CPR to come before you really get going on studying again. Also, I suggest you wait at least 24 hours from now to ensure that your exam has gone past the 2nd scoring. You very well could be in a small group of people whose results flip at that second scoring. The next time you start studying, do NCLEX questions, but don't do them for content. You know the content. Do them to learn how to really read and pick apart the questions. Read the rationales of all your questions, right and wrong, to see why it's right or wrong and see if you can look for key words and phrases in the questions that might lead you to the correct answer.
While it's very likely you failed, it's not the end of the world. Now that you've had one crack at it, you now know what testing is like and so that shouldn't be a source of anxiety for you now. Another thing to remember is that you almost went the entire length of the exam, but only took about 1/2 the time allotted. That, to me, says you might have been rushing through and that can very easily lead to mis-read questions. This has been a problem for me in the past. Next time, slow down, read the question, answer it in your head, then read the answers to see if you're in the same ball park, and then re-read the question while looking for key words and phrases. Then read the answers. All of the answer must be correct... choose the most correct one and move on to the next question. This forces you to slow down a bit and actually comprehend what the question is actually asking you so that you can better answer it.
Also, the only question that matters is the one in front of you. Since you can't change the past and can't see into the future, don't dwell on that stuff. Right now is what matters. Don't worry about taking too much time on the exam. You're like me... a fast test taker. If you slow down just a bit, you might find that the next time, your test results might be far more positive.
Good luck and don't punish yourself for failing this time. That's not productive... it's destructive.

Before jumping the gun, I would definitely wait until you find out for sure that you failed. The trick is just that... a trick.
Thank you all. I looked at my stats doh website and my grad status is now "administrative inactive".... Which is different from what all of my friends say who have passe. So I failed. I'm feeling a bit better today, although still saddened. I'm going to take your advice and move forward. Thank you again

Hey Nmcks,
Don't be so discouraged! You might not have failed...PV trick is not the true result. I saw some posts that said they got the CC page but they actually passed. So just wait couple of days and find out through the quick result. Check to see if your state participate in the quick result.
Stay strong and hope the CC page was just a fluke!

I agree! I cannot like akulahawkRN's post enough. She (or he?) nailed it!
Thanks! I appreciate the sentiment. At this point, given the recent update, and if the OP is still getting the CC page, the outcome looks less than favorable, shall we say. The reason I say this is because at this point, the 2nd scoring has been done and therefore the billing system has a definitive result.
Unfortunately the system won't allow people to keep clicking "like" on those posts that are really, really liked. Just for the record, I'm a "he". I was one of about 6 guys in my 40+ student class.
