Hi all,
I had my Embassy interview yesterday. It wasn't at all what I expected, very informal and I was just asked how long had I been nursing, how did I get my job in the US, and when was I planning to leave. And that was it....paid my fee for my passport to be returned by courier (which they said would be today or tomorrow)....and I'm good to go :w00t:
Feel kinda strange today, I've been sort of thriving under all this immigration pressure for the past 18 months, and now it's all done.
So......here's to the end of an era, and a new beginning
Thank you to all who have helped and supported me (you know who you are :icon_hug: )
Good luck to everybody who's still waiting......keep the faith, it's all worth it in the end.

fantastic, so when do you go tina?
Thanks everyone :thankya:
Actually, just been looking at flights for end of May, but they are sooo expensive ......maybe coz it's school holiday time, so.....looks like it's gonna be around June 2nd.......giving in my notice at work on Tuesday .....but if they say I can go sooner than the usual month's notice period, will probably leave for the US early to mid May.
gosh its really real now
good luck

We have moved to the UK and am looking into the process of becoming a UK RN. Im studing for my Ielts exam. Is there anything else I should be doing?
You will need to check with the NMC website as you will now have to do 20 days protected study at a recognised university and unfortunately there isn't enough recognised courses and a huge waiting list. This has to be done before they will issue you a PIN which will enable you to work as a RN in the UK. Just be aware that a lot of hospitals are having financial problems and may have a block on recruiting nurses

Hi :)
No, I didn't use an agency. I did all the CGFNS & NCLEX applications myself then went for direct hire. I wanted to be in control of where I would live and work and figured going independently was the only way to be sure of this. If you can afford to fund the process yourself, this really is the best way and it can be done.
Good luck :)
