Army AECP

I just wanted some information on AECP, because I would like to start getting my packet together. I have went to the website and looked at the info. I just wanted to know first hand from some people who have been there. I am dual military and my husband is trying to get into a school in Fort Sam this year. We are currently stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and I would like to apply to a college here for AECP since I am not sure if he will be accepted or not. What i would like to know is, if I get accepted to the AECP program and to a college here in Oklahoma and my husband goes to San Antonio to PCS, will I be able to change my school from Oklahoma to a school in San Antonio and still be able to do the AECP as long as its 30 days before I start the school? I have a family and I would like to know if its better to wait till my husband figures out where he goes or start my packet now and see if they are able to let me change schools just in case he moves.

Contact an AMEDD recruiter: http://www.goarmy.com/locate-a-recruiter.html -- Select "AMEDD" and put in your ZIP code. Good luck with school! :)

RN2b.. are you currently enlisted? AECP info can be found by searching MILPER messages... this will provide contact info and steps to take etc.

Thanks for the tips!

I was active 4.5 years, now AZNG in Tucson. I sent out the info email to SFC Florey, but not getting any answers. I wonder if one can be accepted into AECP after already having started nursing school (i start in january at the U of A.) And where can these "helpful" AECP recruiters be found? Hehe, this is so counfounding!

Sorry AECP doesn't work that way. You can find the FY12 message in AKO by doing a search for AECP. If you want to apply for AECP, you can only apply for FY12 (begin classes 1 Jan 2012). The deadline for applications will be 1 Feb. SFC Forney at USAREC will be your POC.

Do you know where to find information for the FY2012??

Thanks

The Board has already met and released the results for the FY2012 AECP. The next board wont be untill August 2012 and that will seclect the FY13 AECP. THis is all from the MILPER MESSAGE that released the latest results.

Yep, that is correct. Congrats to those who were selected. The easy part is over. Good luck.

Anyone applying to the AECP for FY 13? Just wondering what is the lowest GPA anyone has gotten accepted into nursing school with...also wondering if anyone has run into residency issues when applying to universities?

mrsksway,

I think my Army GPA was a 2.8 or a 2.9, can't remember, but for the schools that I applied to it averaged between a 3.0-3.4. Having acceptance letters before the board is what helped me get selected I think. As far as residency, most universities allow military members to claim residency if they are stationed near there. The local ROTC might be able to help, but I would say work with the admissions/bursars office.

Kilo_soldier... I have been working on this packet for FY 13 for quite some time... I talked with the AECP program manager once on the phone and by email. She is very difficult to get ahold of. I feel like I have specific questions and was looking for someone who could offer some insight into this process.
