We are nurses. When we see a situation, we visualize or imagine how we're going to deal with it.

Well, when it comes to art, the same thing happens with me. I can't stop myself. I look at something and I image things.

I look at members' names and the image of an avatar comes to mind.

I submit thes images with all due respect.

But I'm a girl Davy Do, and I have not one single curl. Nose is a little off. I have a classically Irish nose inherited from my daddy. I'm not gray either. Not yet anyway! Thank you I guess!

Some time back, you made a post on overhearing some nursing students talking about AN.com and mentioning your username. Farawyn made comment that wouldn't it had been cool if you could have gone up to them and say "Hi. I'm Ruby Vee".

I followed Farawyn's comment up with a cartoon of a personified ruby-colored "V" sticking out its hand and saying "Hi... I'm Ruby Vee".

I'm shocked that I missed the post at the time! I love the avatar -- I'm going to start trying to figure out how to use it now.

I can change many things on the images. Or if somebody wants something in particular done, they can feel free to request it!

Okay- another story: As my name got around the art community back in the mid '90's people would contact me to do work for them. One was a psychologist who wanted me to illustrate certain passages from a book she used in her therapy sessions. I did some roughs, she told me how she wanted the illustrations and I did a bunch of watercolors on some dirty old paper I had laying around.

It's difficult to put a price on art work, and I had just starting out in the freelance art thing. "$7.50", I thought, "I charge her $7.50 for each one... no, $10.00! I'll charge her $10.00 for each one!"

I brought the five works into her office as arranged, she sat down, looked them over and said "Does $150 sound all right to you?"

I swallowed the lump in my throat and tried to hide my excitement while saying, "Yes. Yes, that will be fine!"

I rarely do artwork for money anymore. I've got a job in the spring painting a mural for a lady who owns a health food store and we're going to use the barter system: I get so much free stuff and she gets a mural. I just love doing art.

Soooooooo, sevensonnets: Tell me what is it that you want and I will be most happy to endeavor to meet your expectations!

Pick me pick me pick me pick me .... please before i make a typo ;)

It's an interesting story how I chose my avatar:

I was talking with one of a couple of self-named rock star nurses and asked, "If you're a rock star nurse, then what am I?" The reply was, "Some burned out '70's DJ like Dr. Johnny Fever!"

And so.

You're welcome. I am honored you chose to use it as your avatar, JKL!

How is Jacob? Tell him Heyyyyyyyyyyy...
