It was only after this that these reports surfaced that theTrump Organization began using e-verify to confirm U.S. employment eligibility to work .

    It goes along with a general lack of awareness of history. Trump has been a notorious dirtbag and a known racist since the 70's. Longer than that in NYC.  How the American electorate lost its long-term memory would make an interesting study.

    By now, that's an intentional unawareness.

    Has anyone produced the contract by which El Salvador is holding folks for the US?  There is a 1970's law Case-Zablocki Act requiring international agreements be shared  with Congress.   Interesting that El Salvador President Bukele meeting with Trump on Monday....   hopefully bringing Kilmar Abrego Garcia with him!

    Folks? You mean criminals? Seem to forget that part allot. 

    Where should illegal criminals be detained? Where would be acceptable for you? Oh that's right. Even drug trafficking, child sex trafficking and violent crimes do not matter. Only if Trump deports them. Get teal. 

    Do you even think these people should be deported and detained? Where should they put them? ?

    I haven't been here in a good while.  I got sick of it.  Same arguments, same defenses of the indefensible.

    Coming back to say that IRL at least, my husband - 3-time Trump voter has finally had a change of heart - disappointment and shock at what is happening to our government with an unfettered Trump.  He is finally appropriately disgusted.  Hope that encourages someone.

    I don't think he was.  What's appalling is El Salvador is not going to release the prisoner mistakenly sent to him and Trump made no demands or express any regret or outrage that a person that's not a prisoner with legal status is suffering like that.  

    What's interesting is that that El Salvador is selling prison space, all the while wanting to protect El Salvadorian immigrants here who are sending money home, a significant source of income for his country as well as talking about tariffs.

    I guess it official.  The Trump administration does what it wants even if the courts disagree?  We are no longer a country of law and order if that's true.  

    The reception that Trump got at Saturday's UFC event was just incredible.  People are really happy to have a patriot in office one again and the positive change we are seeing is undeniable.

    Following Trump threats, IRS may revoke Harvard's tax-exempt status, reports say

    The IRS may revoke Harvard University's tax-exempt status after the Ivy League university refused to meet President Donald Trump's wide-ranging demands for changes in its policies, CNN and the Washington Post reported on April 16.

    According to the Post, the Trump administration asked the IRS to revoke the Cambridge, Massachusetts university's tax-exempt status. CNN reported that the agency is making plans to do so.

    Trump and Harvard are battling over his allegations the university failed to adequately protect Jewish students during pro-Palestinian protests last year, along with his belief the university is a bastion of diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Republicans have for several years been discussing whether to revoke the tax-exempt status of Harvard and other universities they deem "woke" for DEI policies while permitting anti-Israel protests.

    "Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting 'Sickness?'"  Trump posted to Truth Social on April 15. "Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!"...

    The Washington Post reported that the request to take away Harvard's tax-exempt status was conveyed by officials at the Treasury Department, of which the IRS is a part. Legal authority to change tax-exempt status belongs solely to the IRS and it is supposed to use that power without political favoritism. The president is not allowed to request that it do make changes to any taxpayers' status....

Jason Smith of Missouri,sent a letter to several universities, including Harvard, demanding they justify their tax-exempt status. He cited "ongoing concerns that 'elite' American universities are failing to provide instruction beneficial to individuals or the community and are instead instructing students to have disdain for the United States and the very communities they live in."

    "Ultimately, as the U.S. House Committee with primary jurisdiction over tax-exempt institutions and the treatment of their endowments, we are left to wonder whether reexamining the current benefits and tax treatment afforded to your institutions is necessary," Smith wrote....

    DHS threatens to revoke Harvard's eligibility to host international students unless it turns over disciplinary records

    The Department of Homeland Security is threatening to revoke Harvard University's ability to enroll foreign students and has canceled grants totaling more than $2.7 million.

    The latest action from the Trump administration against Harvard comes on on the heels of a $2.2 billion federal funding freeze because the university rejected a list of demands.

    DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is now demanding detailed records on Harvard's foreign student visa holders' "illegal and violent" activities, or the university will lose Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification. Noem demanded the records by April 30.

    The DHS said, "if Harvard cannot verify it is in full compliance with its reporting requirements, the university will lose the privilege of enrolling foreign students."

    In a statement Wednesday, Secretary Noem accused Harvard of "bending the knee to antisemitism." "America demands more from universities entrusted with taxpayer dollars," Noem said.

    The DHS said the grants being canceled were the $800,303 Implementation Science for Targeted Violence Prevention grant and the $1,934,902 Blue Campaign Program Evaluation and Violence Advisement grant....
